Default old 4.0 vbar or 3gx

My friend picked up a used heli with a older vbar on it. It is a full size and does not have the sat ports on it.
It also running 4.0
I have no experience with vbar so my question is would a 3gx I have kicking around work as good as a older vbar.

If it has a black sensor, then it can be upgraded to 5.2.
That will (most likely) be better than a 3GX (never flown one).
V-Bar is awesome!

I'm pretty much done with 3gx. I had it on my 600EFL worked good and then one day right after I landed and hit throttle hold it pitched right and took out my blades. I thought well maybe I bumped stick or something walking out. So anyway I upgraded to vbar and put 3gx on my 450 it flew great and then same thing came in to land hit throttle hold and it started lifting tail off the ground had to give it full back elevator to level out. The swash never leveled out till I reset the 3gx. I didn't want to deal with this anymore and another member here had 2 resets on his also with lots of damage so for me it was piece of mind to change it out. I didn't want to spend the money on another vbar for 450 so went beast x on it but even the an old vbar in my opinion would be better. I tried to give the 3gx a chance and it failed me. I really wanted it to work to tell you the truth, but 2 wrecks is more expensive the one flybarless controller. I would use old vbar with seperate RX over 3GX in my opinion.

The one 3gx unit I have to give him did about 300 flights on a 550e then about 50 flights on a 500pro and 10 flights on my x7
Im talking for performance, fbl units have come a long way in the past few years and I was asking if a very old v-bar would be as good.
If it was newer v-bar I would not be asking this question

But I have to admit my 3gx is very touchy when landing and taking off I always have stayed on top of the controls, until the head came to a stop

It definitely made me more aware, I even wait now on vbar even though I have not had any problems. Not sure on old vbar as the only ones I have used are the new mini blue lines but really liking the them.

Am sorry if previous post was trying not to rant just hard to explain in short, had over 50 flights on mine before I had issues.
