Blade CX2 problems
So I am having some problems with my bird. I don’t know if it’s a bad motor or a bad 4 in 1.
So here is the problem I have. In order to keep the tail strait I have to have the Proportional trim turned all the way counterclockwise and the rudder trim all the way to the left. It turns left so slow that it is hard to fly the damn thing. It start happening after I replaced the fly bar and inner/out shafts because of a crash. I know I put the thing together right. Also after all those new parts the thing still vibrates. Any help would be much appreciated. |

try this frist and we can see if it's your motors as that would be the cheap fix.
1. unplug the motors ( make a note of which one is left and wihch one is right) 2. plug ther right motor in the left motor slot and the same with the left plug it in the right slot. 3. this step is really inportant: you are not trying to fly it now please remember this you are only puting enough trottle to start lift. 4. is it doing the same thing only the other direction now? if it is then chances are it's your motors replace them both get the Heat sink (it helps) ok now that vibration thing . I need to know a few things. are you running any alum. parts? if you are thats good to a point. if you have the alum. blade grip. take them off and run stock blades. they will cause your CX2 to fly poorly and short'n your flight time. Did you replace the bearing? I only ask this because I crashed a CX and could not find that shake (viberation) mine was more like a shake or shimmer. when I decided to give it to my dad I fully reconditioned the CX motor, inner, outer' bearings AH the shake was gone. How many flights have you got on it?

Ok I will try swapping the motors to help trouble shoot the problem.
As far as aluminum parts go I have the upper aluminum rotor head and that’s it. I have about 25 flights on it. How long do the motors last? |

The tail motors don't last long at all. With the rotor blade turning clockwise it makes a counter torque that wants to make the heli go counterclockwise (Turn left). We can deduce that the tail motor is not slowing down to let the countertorque turn the heli left. the tail is a pusher so it is trying to push the heli right all the time, since left turns are hard to do, then the tail is pushing too much. I wouldn't be surprised to see a bad 4-in-1, hopefully just a bad motor.

uh there is no tail motor on a CX2 it is a coixial heli two mains no tail.
and the motors will last about 80-120 flights well at lest mine did. the batterys are good for about 80 charges.

Re: Blade CX2 problems
Those are normal issues with the Blade CX. There is an adjustment for the Gyro in the book. That will help some. Understand it's not a heading hold gyro and is subject to drift. Try the gyro adjustment in the book and see if that helps.

Yep I didn't look at the heading!! Dumb me. This problem with the CX should be fixable by finding the sweet spot between gain and proportional. The secret is making sure you unplug the battery first, then center both the gain and the proportional pots. Center your rudder trim and plug in a FRESHLY charged battery. Get the heli up in the air and see which way the heli wants to turn. Land and UNPLUG the battery. If the heli was turning to the left then you are going to turn the PROPORTIONAL pot clockwise a little bit. 1/12 of a turn is enough, turn Proportional pot counterclockwise if the heli was turning right. Make small adjustments only and make sure to unplug the battery everytime you touch the proportional pot. If at anytime the heli starts spinning in random directions or gets "Bouncy"then the gain pot is turned too far clockwise and can be adjusted down without unplugging the battery. Between the two you should be able to make the heli work right. You will probably still never get it perfect, it will always turn one direction faster than the other, just try to find a good balance you will adapt to its shortcomings. Also as the battery is discharged the voltage drops and the tail will start to drift, just compensate as it happens. |

aaah but there is a hidden pot that controls the rate of the piro. just to the left (on the Blade CX) when I swiss cheesed my 4and1 on my CX I ran across it and my CX spins the same speed both ways it did that several hours to get it just right but it helps alot with this indoor bird.

I don't know if the CX2 has the same config. but the CX can be dialed in to spin its tail off in bith directions.

Well I just replaced both motors and I still have the same problem. I think I have a bad 4 in 1. I have replaced all the blades, inner and outer shafts, all the bearings, fly bar and both motors. Still fly’s like crap. So the only thing left is the 4 in 1.
When I do left circles the heli just wants to fall out the sky. I give it full throttle and it still just falls to the ground. When I do right circles it doesn't have this problem. It has to be the 4 in 1. Thoughts…. Also where cani order a 4 in 1? My LHS is all out of them. |

Let me rephrase that. Does anyone know where I can buy one that has it in stock? Every place is out of them

I don't see how it could be the 4 in 1, it sounds like you don't have enough speed on the lower blades. You might check for any binding and when you hit left yaw (rudder) do your servo arms hit the heli body anywhere? any binding will stress the power and affect flight performance. If you have an RPM gauge you could check that as well. Ideally both rotor speeds would be the same.

Bad gyro on the 4-in-1 would give those same symptoms, possibly a bad Proportional pot.

It's easy enough to test. Power off, adjust, power on, move yaw left/right and see which motor comes on first, rinse/repeat, as long as the motors change it's working. That's what mine does.
