I voted "Still Flying" but it has not flown in quite a while. I usually rotate machines over time.

Parts availability is a major concern.

Mine has never experienced a mechanical failure.

The tooling for these must exist out there, somewhere...

Right now it is the only one I have working. Of course my concerns are the spare parts, but man, we need to live the moment. I will miss him when the time comes.

God bless you all !!!

Still loving mine. Hopefully I'll have some steel umbrella gears soon...

I have two that still both fly great. I have an extensive parts inventory, so I expect to be flying them for many more years.

I have 2 Fusion50s I'm still flying. I have a reasonable stock of parts, so I hope to be flying them for quite a while yet. They fly amazing.

I still fly mine. I have lots of spares, I´m just about to get out of main gear stock. Now in summer, outrage main gears also stripped more easily, I have a scorpion HK 4035 and I think it gets so hot that the pinion melt the teeth. I´m working on a way to use align 600 main gears in my fusion. As soon as I get it I will post here.

I´m really happy that I´m not the only one that keeps the fusion rocking!

Regards!

David, just a little hint: there was a guy, using AVANT Main Gear -https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=556536&highlight=avant

But it will be great if you find a way using t-rex gears!

We need to find a guy who can draw CAD images for the frame parts to machine them with a late - just in case some bad things happen to our fusions (sudden lift of the floor i.e)

I saw that link some time ago, thanks for sharing it, is interesting but I think align gears are cheaper than those. I´m sure those are much better, but I think align 600 gears are more than enough for our machines. I will share as soon as I get it.

About the CAD drawings, some time ago I started to do it. I have them in STP format. I did the tail booms, TT shaft, main gear and main shaft.

Main shaft could be made in AISI 4140, C45 or C40 carbon steel.

The aluminium pieces that are not critical, like tail boom, housings, etc, are made from 6061-t651, and the critical aluminium parts like rotor parts are made of 7075-t651.

I was just about to start to make them in a local CNC workshop while I found
goblin hobbies, a shop in southafrica that had all kind of spare fusion parts, so I stopped my plan of making them.

Maybe you´d wonder why I´m trying to make that align modification if I have the designs of the main gear, and the reason is that the price is really high.
Stock gears, the cheap ones, are made in plastic injection. Of course for 10 or 20 gears that is imposible, the way is to made them by CNC, and CNC is really expensive, is better if I can make that with align gears.

If anybody needs the drawings in STP of that pieces just send me your e-mail by private and I´ll send them to you.

Regards!
