Throttle change rate was used seldom and was removed to make room for the oneshot feature and the bootloader.

Default Optimization for large motors/props

I am looking for a hint how to tweak my large Hexa with pixhawk.
Symtom: motors are vibrating and the output is oscillating.
Hardware:
Arris 5010 12 pole motor with 18" props
Skywalker Platinum Pro opto 30A
Blheli 13.2 with default settings: Demag low/Pwm:High/Timing:medium

Does anyone has an idea where to start?

With the huge props I am not sure if its the right way to enable damped light?
Because of only 12 poles I left the timing on medium.
Or maybe the motor is running softer with demag compensation on high?

Hope it is the right place here to ask about recommendations?

Cheers Gregor

Hello,

I have BLHeli 13.1 Multicopter loaded on 4 Afro 20A Slims. How do I tell the PWM frequency when the firmware has labels as High, Low and Damped Light? Is it ESC dependent? Thanks.

read the manual please:
https://github.com/bitdump/BLHeli/bl...%20Rev13.x.pdf page 8.

Quote:
High pwm frequency is around 16kHz, and low pwm frequency is around 8kHz.
One benefit of using a low pwm frequency is that the step from almost full power to full power becomes smaller. On the other hand, 8kHz is in
the audible frequency range, and also there is a step in power when the motor rotation frequency is equal to the pwm frequency.

Pwm damped light mode adds loss to the motor for faster retardation. Damped light mode always uses high pwm frequency.

My guess would be that you can get it from the same place you got 13.1...

But you'll need to wait until it's published

I asked this in the Blade 230s forum before I realised that this is the right place...(sorry for cross posting )

Can the Blade BL1517 Dual ESC be programmed and/or flashed with BLHeli?

I flashed almost all the ESC's I have with BLHeli because I love the adjustable soft start and governor.

Anyone able to install this latest version of BLHeli? I am getting a couple corrupt file errors. I am trying to get my old MCPx BL conversion back up.

I am now trying to download it to another computer and Chrome has said the file is Malicious and blocked it. Says the site may have been hacked.

Hi guys, I think someone here might be able to help me out.
I have a mcpx bl with an external main esc (HobbyKing 10A) and I installed it 18 months ago. I have programmed it using blheli by then.
Now I wanted to change some settings but when I connect it, the program says there is a connection issue/no connection.
I soldered the female plug on the little esc myself and it worked perfectly 18 months ago. But now it seems something have happened that the connection can't be established.
I also have the same esc type for the tail (same heli) and I soldered the plug exactly the same way, but this works well with immediate connection, which means there are no issues with the programming stick or anything.
The main 10A esc runs the main motor very well and I just need to change some setting to try increase flight time a bit.
Does anyone have an idea or saw this problem before?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Cheers!

Sure, just resolder the connection.

OR

If you had bad luck like me the solder pad for the positive connection ripped off. In that case make another connection to one of the positive power wires.

IDK It probably is if that is a jpg from the HF pages that have the little circles to point out solder points on each Silabs ESC.
