Default Cyclic Limit (Step L) Question

Started setting up my Beastx last night on my rebuild. Destroyed my FB Trex 550 when I dumb thumbed so I made the jump to FBL. All stock components with the Align FBL head.

My question is about the light while setting the cyclic limit in step L. To get it without any binding it's in the red light range. With the blue light the elevator binds big time on the antiroataion bracket, and yes that's with the spacers on the servo mounts. With it set without binding and the red light I can still get 12*. I know in posts and in the manual it says to get 10-12, so I'm guessing it's ok, plus I'm not in the purple or no light at all. Just wanted some opinions.

If it matters on step J it stays on the blue light at 6*.

Thanks

IMO, red LED in L point is OK. As you know, it means that the geometry of the rotor is a bit out of what Microbeast likes . Maybe your cyclic will be a bit less quick than a blu LED geometry: that's all.

Thumbs up

Thanks

I don't know why I didn't think to search the 550 forum also, found this thread and a few others

https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...evator+binding

I'm going to look today and see how bad the link is hitting the ar bracket and how much I'd have to grind/file so the link can move enough to stay in the blue light without binding. If it's possible I'd like it to be in the blue light.

BTW, I forgot to put this is binding at full positive collective with full forward cyclic. At full negative collective I can keep it in the blue light and nothing binds. This is also with 12* +/- collective.

My 550 had terrible binding on elevator, and I guess would only have been giving me red. I didn't like that, so I simply filed the AR bracket away until I could completely max out the cyclic even at full collective. It wasn't that I thought I might need so much cyclic, not sure, but I thought the MB might when in some extreme circumstance. Anyway, here is a picture of where I filed it, maybe it will help. Mine is a stock FB with an Align FBL head too, and this filing hasn't given me any issues, and of course it now gives me blue.

Cheers

Thanks! I feel the same, I don't know that I'll ever need that much cyclic but I'll feel better knowing the Beastx is at it's optimum setting.
