it scared the crap out of me because I tried it with my 700 first, which was more stable. It is odd I fly my 450 much harder then I do my larger helis, is that normal?

Sure because you know crashing won't be as expensive so you are more daring. $125 for replacing blades is not pretty. Ask me how I know!

Almost forgot to say congrats on the funnels. I still can't seem to get them on the sim much less in real life.

Yeah tell me about it 125 would fix my entire 450 in a major crash, not alone less, that will barely get me blades, for my 700, plus i have to pay for shipping, yikes. Why do we fly the big helicopters again?

Great to hear, Sarah! It's always nice when you pull off something new. Tail slides are fun. Adding a roll or two is easy. You'll be doing them in no time I'm sure.

wow those are pretty cool so it is a basic tail slide, with an aileron roll in it. i wish we could put real life in slow mode for the helicopter so you can see what it does while your doing it.

Congrats Sarah.

Thanks for that video Bob. I just started trying those rolling tail slides in Phoenix and didn't even know what they were called.

It is fun I tried the rolling tail slides on the sim and well needless to say kept crashing on the sim those are hard lol, it is hard to have zero pitch in those.

Congrats on the funnel! Its one of my favorite tricks. I think they're also surprisingly hard to keep smooth and level, especially if your heli is set up with high head speed and lots of pitch. Its a trick you can't get through on timing and muscle memory, you really have to fly it all the way through.

Tips on the tail slides (another of my faves): If you are recovering upright, you can put in negative pitch as you push the nose down to keep the fall line vertical, then when the disc is flat, pop it to positive for a hard stop.

Also, you can put a subtle notch in the left stick travel at 0degrees pitch. It helps find that critical 0 pitch for the roll (or a regular tail slide, or a stall turn). Theres several threads on HF about how to put a center detent in the collective. Downside is, its generally not a reversible mod to the TX, so be sure you really want one! I find that I never even feel it unless I'm looking for it.
