Jeff, just curious, are you able to test the struts to that extreme while they are mounted on the heli?

I have no idea... never tried it... lol!
I probably wouldn't as you're going to have to apply downward pressure somewhere other than the skid itself. |

Are the 7HV struts suppose to be that flexible? Mine feel like I could drop them and they'd break because the plastic feels so hard. They don't bend or flex at all!

That I don't know ... I haven't heard of any issues with the 7HV either though, so I just assumed they were good since no one has brought up any issues with them.

Just checked mine and they are fine. I don't remember exactly when I got my 6HV kiit though, but it has been a while.

Mine keep breaking, even tho they are able to bend like in Jeff's picture. Its getting really frustrating..
Was out flying today (its about 6c) and it broke on the first battery. Will any other brands of struts work on the compass or is there any other manufacturers that offers custom struts for 6hv? |

Ok, someone has to say it - let the old guy do it - I do it every other night IN bed (these things happen when you get older).
I did break a set just the other day, but they might have been from last summer when I stocked up for a fun fly.

The last set of packs I started to land doing auto's form about 8 to 10 feet. Since my HS is low, the landing has to be perfect, otherwise the heli bounces from landing to hard.
All this to tell ya that the struts do a wonderfull job of expanding and taking the load without exploding. But I am carefull.

Just an FYI .... every single strut we have has been been tested, I did not receive any brittle struts the past few orders.

Just did a 30 feet auto today with my atom 500 and the heli bounced back 3 feet off the ground, dropped straight to the ground and bounced few inches more before it actually landed safely, it was scary but yet funny to watch lol. That really made my day! I don't know about the other dealers, but my skid from Jeff is 100% good for sure! Thanks!

Is there still a problem with brittle struts on the 7HV?
Snapped the right front one on my "maiden". Not a smoth landing, but did not expect it to brake... (Had to go down for gain adjustment, the tail was like jelly). 0:35 And yeep, I am a NOOB |

the first 2 sets broke just landing lightly lol think they got it solved now oh and Mike at Nankin hooked me up with replacements for the bad ones so shoot him some orders

The newer 6HV/3D+ sets seem pretty pliable and smoothe, but we'll see how my first couple inverted autos go. If they can put up with that kind of abuse I'll be singing for joy. Cautiously optimistic for the time being though.
