Default RC Booya mounts in the nitro

I bought RC Booya mounts when I acquired a new Sick canopy. I've never used them on nitro birds before. It's been a long time since I used a set which has the anti-vibration pads. I know they adhere to the inside surface of the canopy, but there's also a set of (4) grommets and a (2) o-rings included. It seems to me that the vibration pad AND grommet are too thick to allow the pin to engage the standoff. Did I not push hard enough? I could use a 4mm nut driver to push them on until they snap, if they are supposed to all go on. I presume the o-rings are intended to go inside the rear Q/R pins. Likewise, extremely tight. Can someone clarify for me how they should be installed?

The O-rings go on the pins before you push them through the pads so the O-ring ends up on the outside of the canopy. When new, do exactly what you thought. I use two nut drivers so I can push on both sides equally. Once everything breaks in the nut drivers may not be necessary.

Cool. That was what I thought, but the (4) included grommets confused me. I believe I can use a pair them on the rear without o-rings.

Have them on mine as well.......a must for nitro!

If you scroll about half way down on their website you can see pictures of how to install. Thats how I did mine up.

http://www.rcbooya.com/align-700-series.html

Directions for Front:

-Lightly sand the inside of the canopy, where the sticky pads go.
-Clean said area with some alcohol.
-Apply sticky pad to inside. I line up the hole by looking down into the hole from the outside of the canopy as I apply the sticky pad from the inside. Assures a perfect fit.
-Install the single "half-grommets" to the quick releases. Then push them through, holding the pad down as you push them through as to not pull it off.
-Its good to then clamp the pad down or hold it for a few minutes while it fully sets.
-Pro tip - take a tooth pick and some CA glue and carefully apply it to the perimeter of the sticky pad. This will prevent nitro fuel from getting on it and breaking it down.

Directions for Rear: much easier

-Install full grommets into canopy.
-Push the quick releases through. It helps to use a bit of rubber safe silicone spray on the inside of the grommet. Slides right in that way.

The quick releases also need to be broken in. Apply a drop of light weight oil on the quick release bearing before popping them into the standoffs.

When installing first half a dozen times, you'll find that they're a bit difficult to get fully seated sometimes. This is normal. They will break in. If they don't seat all the way push with your thumb and index finger on the perimeter of the quick release until you hear it click in. Then give a solid tug to the canopy to make sure its attached. Don't forget that last step each time you fly.

Thanks, DC. I didn't scroll down far enough before I posted. I get it now. Excellent instructions!

Instead of pads in the front and grommets for the back I use 4 pads all around. Lasts much longer.

Mar8090: What happened in the back positions that made you change up?

I have a Sick canopy which I want to preserve as much as possible...and that is IF I fly with it...LOL

The grommets will tear fairly easily, even when glued in.

I need to know the RCBOOYA part number for the canopy mount for a 700N DFC kit, last version.

Thanks in advance

They are the same as the old 700N. The canopy standoffs did not change.
