Did you ever change out the pinion? I am running the 560 as well as am curious. Also, did you ever notice any issues with the stock setup with the 560?Thanks!

Just curious ... how much pitch are you running. I set mine up with a max pitch of +- 14 and if I give it full collective up or down the tail blows out but only on full collective. Just guessing too much pitch with that head speed and 710's? Also...using the AR7200BX and other than the tail issue flies wonderful!

Default tail precomp

I run 13 degrees of pitch. Even with that heavy pitch pump I get no tail movements are you sure you have your precomp set in the correct direction or is it even on?. My whiplash has super tail authority I can't imagine it ever blowing out I to have the beast X a R 7200 BX as well.

So what is the general consensus on head speed on the whiplash? I haven't gotten one yet but was looking at motors for one using Mr Mel's head speed calculator and to get even a 500kv to work with stock gearing seems to put it in the 2200-2400 range which blows my mind for a 700 since I'm currently running 2250-2300 on my 550 with 553 blades. I've only seem this bird in person once and looks beast so sure it can handle high hs but wanted to make sure I'm on right track before buying a motor.

With 710 blades, I have settled in on 2000rpm. Anymore is just a waste imop.

Turned on tail precomp this past weekend and that fixed the tail issue completely. Running 2400 RPM with the Scorpion 4035-560. What a beast! :-)

I am running the stock pinion that comes with the kit. I have also swapped out the motor to the 4525-520 Ultimate and what a difference. I think the stock pinion and the 560 aren't as good a match as the 520-530 kv motor. The extra power with the Ultimate helps also! Spinning the head at 2400 solid with this combination. Have gone as high as 2500 and it worked just a little nervous about tail gear etc. Also once you start getting that high the flight times decrease but it is fun!
