Default Rail 516's on stretch?

So recently stretched my atom for something different. Liking it but the rotortechs I'm using are borrowed. And are somewhat hard to come by.

Do the rail 516's fit the grips or do they need moded? What's the milage people are getting using them? Opinions?

Cheers

Looks like they fit. 10mm root like the RT's. I never considered those. Probably a nice blade for the 5.5.

The Rail 516's and Cyclone 505's both fit and fly very well.

How would you say they compare? Do the rails have a little more pull from the extra length? Or do the cyclones make up for it with the extra chord at the end? Which do you prefer? I ordered the cyclones since I want to run the 84.5mm tail without risk of collision. Already had one running the RT 515's with 84.5's.

So did the Rail 516's ever have a 3mm bolt hole or was it always 4mm? I just bought a set, after doing my research by reading this thread and was very disappointed to find out the bolts are too small.

Just remove the brass insert from a set of crashed blades and glue them in. Works for me.

Just got mine. Mass is off by 0.40 grams. 100.61 vs 101.02. Looks like I'm gonna have to bust out the balancing tape.

I am running the stock compass motor with the 8t pinion. What size esc do you guys recommend? I am partial to YEP.

On my stock Atom 500 I am using a Castle 75. On my stretched 5.5 I am using a YGE 90HV.

If I were setting them up today I would go with the Hobbywing HW 100A V3. Excellent ESC for the money with a very good integrated BEC and governor. I am using one on my 550U.

Active freewheeling is a requirement, does the HW have it? Castle is what I am getting away from, so no go there. I have a YGE 90HV on my 6HVU, wow that is a lot of esc for a 515mm heli.

10t pinion with cyclone 505s running a 4025-1100kV motor and I love the HW 100A V3 gov. It's 🍌🍌🍌🍌!

Just maidened it as a stretch. 9t pinion with no gov. Lots of bogging at 70%, pretty good at 88, 95 and 100. Tail needs a little work. Really need to put the 8t and set up the gov. Motor, battery and esc all came down warm not hot.

So a couple days ago i stripped a set of gears in the left aileron servo in flight. Plastic Align DS510. Then yesterday i got a bad spooldown shake and stripped the same one again and the elevator. Is this an issue on the stretch? Are metal gear servos required?
