Default CC ICE LITE 50 with bl460mx

Hey guys. This is going to be the first cc esc that I have used, although I have used cc bec s before.

I'm setting this up on a new x3 using the castle link.

I need a little bit of a walk through...
What timing should I use? How do I know the hertz? For auto bailout do I just check the box?

This page here: http://www.castlecreations.com/support/documents.html has information regarding esc setup/Castle Link use, and at the bottom of the page there are three documents on how to setup your endpoints, gov mode, and auto bailout - auto bailout must be properly set in order for it to work properly.

In a nutshell:
Setup Castle link/esc and then fixed endpoints
Enable & set autobailout
Enable gov mode
Check failsafe

That motor should work fine on Medium timing; you can search here for others' settings that have set that motor up before for specifics - sorry, I don't have any recent experience with it, so I can't remember what settings we used on a friend's 450

Timing impacts motor heat and PWM impacts ESC heat.

Start with default (medium) motor timing. If the motor runs hot change to low.

Start with default PWM. If the ESC runs too hot try 8 KHz. Sometimes PWM effects governor stability.

Governor gain may need to be tuned a little but always make small changes. Too much gain will cause gear noise.

Thanks for the help guys I will look at it in a bit and see if I can figure it out.

I'm not running a gov sensor as it is just a 450.. I think for that I just choose "simple" or "basic" or something like that and run a throttle curve.

I will report back soon.

I'm at work waiting on a customer to show up in my truck so here is what I got....

Does this sound right?

Throttle- fixed end points (I'm not using a gov sensor), auto rotation is checked, initial spool up medium.

Brake- disabled

Cut offs- auto lipo, limiting normal, 3.2v per cell.

Motor- timing normal, PWM rate 12khz, forward.

BEC- set at 5v I will pill the red wire to run a bec.

Logging- everything is checked except battery ripple, 2/sec.

Firmware 4.02 looks like this is the highest that is not labeled as a beta.

Just to clarify......you don't need a phase sensor unless you are using a governor within a FBL unit.

Any of the governor choices within the ESC can be used on their own, and the "set rpm" where you set a specific head speed for each of your flight modes is the most popular choice and only takes a couple minutes to activate.

Lots of people have been running the 4.22 firmware without issues, even though it is still labeled as "beta". I would set your current limiting to insensitive, but it really depends on your setup.

+1 to what Gladius said. i'm using 4.22 in all mine, no prob, but I wish I could fly as good as him also once you have your endpoints calibrated and you set up the " set rpm " gov, you'll never use fixed endpoints again
