Has anyone installed a OWB in maingear yet?

Just wondering if anyone has tried to install a one way bearing in the main gear yet ? And if so how were the results ?

Don't take this the wrong way but what would be the point? This small of a heli will never auto and stripped gears aren't very common.

Yes, someone here put on a T-Rex 250 one way bearing and it worked.
There is a video of it. I don't know where this post was but maybe someone
else will know or the guy who did the mod may see your thread here.

Either that or a Gaui 200 OWB. Apparently, autos can be achieved and spooling down gradually as opposed to stock's abrupt stop. I may try this when I go BL.

I'm very new and learning. So please feel free to correct my thinking on this.

It seems with the mCPX there is no need for doing an auto as just hitting the TH and letting it flutter to the grass does 0 damage in most cases.

But assuming you want to 'practice' autos for a move up to bigger heli's:

I thought doing an auto would not be possible since the tail motor is independent, and would be stopped.

On larger heli's, the tail rotor would still be moving in relation to the main rotor, so you'd still have some tail control.

Is that right?

An auto is not possible because there isn't nearly enough mass or rotating inertia to do one on a heli this small. 450's are mucho tricky to do an actual auto with and 250's are harder still if not nearly impossible. This heli just doesn't weigh enough.

Hey Joe,
I don't want to do it for any other reason than to say it can be done. I have three of these little guys in various stages and thought it would be cool to watch the blades wind down rather than come to an abrubt stop. I know my time could be spent better else where as I read your posts and others about more practical mods that can be done, but hey were guys and thats what we do, by completely good working heli's tear em apart and try to make them better !! Btw how have you been I haven't posted for awile, except for this last one of course ??? also while we are on the shaft subject 8 or 9T pinion, which would you use ?
