Hi All for NSW, Australia!
Hi everyone. So it's been 15 years since I was last flying intros. Back in the 90s I was flying a JR Ergo 60 with a 3810 radio from memory. I just recently got a T-Rex 600N Pro and a DX7S, things haven't changed that much, just a lot cheaper these days and forums..... wouldn't they have been nice back in the day! It's brilliant being able to research setups etc online, it used to be only through talking to guys at the field and through trial and error.
Anyway, look forward to getting back into it and no doubt, i'll be firing questions off as I work my way back into it all.... |

Things Some this change, some stay the same. Models still fly based on the same principals, but almost everything to do with power and control has changed. Nitro/internal combustion is rare (electric provides more torque, lighter and more convenient with LiPo batteries). Radios 2.4Gz multi-spectrum (jamming/lockouts/signal collision is almost unheard of now). FBL controllers are far more common than flybarless setup. Better sims (great training tool) . Micro CP helis that actually fly (down to as small as 85mm blade lengths). Ask lots of questions. Have fun. (and welcome).

Thanks!
I certainly won't miss having to carry 5 crystals and pegging out a frequency! I remember when CCPM came out, it's clearly the norm these days! I test flew my 600N yesterday, went well, just gotta fix a slight blade tracking split and figure out the governor ... Great to be back :-) if anyone else is from the Sth Coast NSW area, be great to hear from you about the local interest in the hobby! |

Glad your 600N if flying well. Fixing tracking should not be a great issue. Welcome back and have fun.
