HW 100 platinum Pro seems to have slowed down the sped back up.
I need your help figuring out what caused my crash this weekend.
Set-up: Align 550E v2 with stock 600mx motor and gearing, Head speed 2300 6S 5000 mAh 45C battery Hobby Wing 100A ESC CC 20A BEC Vbar gov (blue full size pro 5.3) First two flights were perfect. Batteries came down at 24% and barely warm. ESC and motor barely warm. The third flight started off great. I was pushing hard. I did a flip at the top of a loop and the motor bogged, lost a lot of RPM and then it sped back up as if everything was fine. It happened very quickly. I thought I just over did it a bit and the governor couldn’t keep up. I flew around for another 20-30 seconds and then did a pair of flips and the same thing happened except this time the drive system did not recover and it appeared that the drive system shut down. I was too low to see if there was enough time, would it have recovered. Battery, ESC, motor were cool when I got to the heli. Battery was still at 78%. Stripped main gear and front TT gears, broken skids. Barely enough HS to auto. I know, I know…should have landed after first time, but truthfully I thought the governor didn’t keep up. I did not think there was an “issue.” Thisn only happened when I flipped the heli upside down. The vbar log doesn’t show much. I checked all solder joints – they are okay. One way bearing seems to be okay. I pulled pinion – no signs of slippage. ESC arms, and appears to respond to every throttle input I gave it I have no idea what else to do or look for. What do you think? |

hey do you have the HW platinum 100a esc cuz i have the same one (blue) were you able to set you T end points??

Sounds like over current protection. Maybe your too far out of your optimal head speed for the gearing. Align stock gearing usually asks you to set your throttle at 100 percent for ideal headspeed/ tail authority which gives no head room for the esc. Use a headspeed calculator to see exactly what yor optimal headspeed should be at 80% throttle and compare that to what your running. Also I've found that if your running too low of a headspeed or if your gov gain is set too low you can also run into over current protection cut outs.
