Again, Kontronik isn't inspiring confidence here. The standard warranty will be limited to replacing the motor only. PS> HTF: H(ow)TF instead of W(hat)TF. I'd usually write LOL here, but I S(ure)TF don't have a reason to laugh right now. |

Thanks for making me laugh Seriously you won't know you have a problem untill you run the motor. Run it on the bench and do some auto bailouts and see if it dislodges the magnets. The motor was also only at 48 degC when it happened. Yes I actually measured it.

I don't get it.
Do they not do extensive testing before bringing things on the market. When one charges a premium price peoples expectations of quality control exponentially goes up. wow that some shift on the magnets. Perhaps some kinda bracing on the magnets may help. not sure if that possible .... I think the initial start-up of any motor tends to put a lot load till it gets its momentum on the rotors and gear train. Quote:

Well spacer rings double as braces but o' l Eddy and his ever prsent current apparently becomes a problem , well tbh i dont mind having Eddy for supper if it keeps my motor intact, chk the hobbyking helidrive

So make a spacer out of plastic (POM should be strong enough and sufficiently heat resistant) or some other insulator. Then Eddy can go away

If I'm not mistaken isn't the newer Pyro 600 14 pole ?
Not heard or read any magnet shifting regarding these particular motors. Could this be just a case of poor quality of bonding or more the fact 800 motor are much larger in size hence magnifying the inherit problems of 14P that Ralph had pointed out ? why not just machine in slots on bell can itself both on the bottom and top. all scorpion motor bells have these nice slot milled on the bottom of the bell where each magnets sits. In this case it seems just gluing the magnets on the bell is not enough. I understand its extra work but when charging a premium dollars I'd expect the extra mile. yup seen and looked at HK heliDrive. Interest still tempted to try one.

even having slots on the bottom of the bell can ?
I thought it was just the top area or stator. Perhaps alternative bonding method could be used. ah I'll stick with 10P motors

Some Pyro 700's also had issues with loose magnets, no reason really to not buy one.
This is the first mention on the internet regarding magnets on the P8xx as far as I know, people put negative experiences online very fast... When all is good you hear nothing.

Yeah well Dekker not the first i read about http://www.rc-heli.de/board/showthread.php?t=211293, and you can bet it wont be the last, if it comes loose it means they use the wrong glue so chances are many will come loose, or you think perhaps they forgot to glue also the chaffed wiring etc, i bought 2 already but at least i can fix mine i think qc is lousy for an upmarket motor and if we dont voice our opinion k will do nothing about it!. I already tgrew some loctite on my mags and placed it in drill so centrifugal force dan hopefulle force some 648 into the empty spaces. Hope it lasts

Well this is actually hilarious, while waiting for my loctite to dry had a quick look at the wiring, guess what!, seriously they have lost it, BIG TIME! Lucky doesnt matter in my case but man they gotta do something quick or sell motors with rewinding kit for backup. For the record i didnt come close to this motor with any tools, the way it came out of bell.

I agree, at least for us it would be better if we could get kits.

Their winding machine had a mishap on the wires: they are damaged.

Yes it's stripped. K does not use glue.

I would seriously check out every pyro 800 or 850 for this problem, i have from a reliable source that its much, much more common than we think, since i'm running stock 800 in banshee guess i' ll have to pull that motor and do a check i' m sure k did the 1000 volt test so just some hi temp epoxy on it will do the trick, if like me not worthwhile to send back as reliable shipping is 100 usd. Its a real pity a motor with so much potential, dunno how a respectable company like them can get it so wrong. What bothers me more is the mags they should talk to eflite as to what glue they use, softening in oven makes it harder every time it cools down so after 4 oven sessions on wire out comes the mini gasflame, rewinders nightmare but it does the job for sure
