Default Align Gel Gyro Tape for AR7200BX

I tried some Align PU Adhesive Gel gyro tape (very similar to Zeal gel tape btw) in place of the stock ar7200bx mounting tape today. Only cost less than $10 for a sheet that probably gives you enough for at least 5-6 ar7200bx's.

http://www.readyheli.com/K10457A-Ali...l_p_34659.html

You just cut a piece the size of the ar7200bx unit, peel off the plastic backings, attach it to the frames, same as stock, with a nytie (firmly tightened, just like stock). This stuff needs to be tied down to get the best results (even comes with some tie-down velcro stips, which I did not use). So it's really only useable in the stock ar7200bx position (not up top).

This stuff really soak's up the 300x vibs imho. I've never had straighter/truer hard vertical pitch-pumps (I'd get the odd right tilt before) and the tail seems to hold a little better as well.

Worth a try if you are experiencing any vib-related problems. Otherwise, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, lol!

Cheers,
TomC

Just ordered one! This seems like an excellent product. If only I knew of this before I slapped that 3M tape on there.

I had bad tail vibes... Replaced tail shaft and they're about 90% gone.. I'm sure this will ice the cake real good. Thanks !

Ya, it's fantastic stuff imho. I even used a small strip on my 130x and it smoothed things out a lot better too.

See post #6; https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...ht=top+secrets
