Default Diabolo Speed Machine

Scorpion 4530 LE 450 KV
14S TP 65C 4400
20-21 tooth pinion
Kosmik 200

I have 13 speed runs(flights) on my machine as of today. Today I switched from the 20 tooth pinion to the 21. Raised my HS to 2490 with 14 degrees of pitch.
Today was the fastest runs to date. I'm estimating around 120-130 mph, with a perfect run, meaning one out of 4 passes across the field I'm able to peak. At this HS and pitch, this helicopter sounds like it is growling coming across the line.

The kosmik is still coming down very cool, the battery's are only warm to the touch. The motor is however coming down hot with the 21 tooth pinion, HS, and pitch change.
After what I saw today, I'm convinced that this is about all this 5000 watt production motor is going to produce.
Is there anyone else with this exact set up that agrees with these statements?

I'd also like to know if anyone is using Futaba GPS telemetry on board, and if it's working for you?
Also, who all is actively flying there Speed machines on a regular basis. I have several helis in my arsonol, yet I find myself only brining one to the field........
Thanks

I ahve Futaba GPS unit and while I an get screen speeds can't figure out how it logs onto SD card ! DOes seem to give realistic speeds though.

I think you have hit the stops with the 4530 - great motor but needs more power to keep up the HS on the sorts of pitch we use for speed runs - an 850 or 4535/40 would be good !

My setup is as follows:

Pyro 750-56 comp
Cool Kosmik 200
20T pinion
14s 4400 65C Gensace
Bls 451
Bls251

I activley fly the diabolo S...currently logged 16 flights with the last flight at 2650RPM (TC @ 80%)

I know exactly what you mean by that perfect run, the heli makes a distinct sound when you get it right...running + 13/-7 degrees pitch.

PWM is at 92% thus I should be able to squeeze another 100RPM out of the motor. 750-56 seems to be doing ok...100rpm fluctuations with the current setup.

Im thinking in getting the JLOG GPS logger...any ine tried that before.

Brain,

Can you please post a copy of your kosmik log file. I would love to compare the results to the GensAce battery packs.

The GPS Logger is great, can upload the data into Google Earth with some interesting effects! They have a new model out with a 10Hz refresh rate which I plan to order

Do you happen to know the update rate of the Futaba GPS sensor? Love the Google Earth feature of the GPS Logger. Hopefully something equivalent from Futaba.
