Default Whiplash Nitro tank problem.

I have an air leak at the rear pressure nipple on the fuel tank.
It can be heard once the engine is off and a small amount of fuel found to be running down the back of the tank.

I was down the field earlier and tried an addition sleeve of fuel tube over the top of the fuel line to try to sort it but ended up packing the Heli away and moving onto one of my other machines instead.

The tank is brand new and has had this leak right from the start.

Is this a common Whiplash problem?

The best thing to cure this?

Hi Malc1,

If it is the fuel-line it may be that the inner diameter of the tube you are using is to big. Prefferably use a line with a thick wall.

If the leak is in the tank itself you can close it with a dorp of hotglue. Degrease the spot before applying.

Kind regards & good flying
George

Looks as though the fuel line internal diameter may be the problem.
I'm running a YS120 and went for the larger internal diameter stuff.

I'll have a look at swapping the section going to the rear of the tank with some smaller diameter stuff to see if that works any better.

I experienced the same problem and even had Jeff replace the tank. (I live 10 minutes from Heliproz/MA) I had the same issue with the new tank. Finally solved the problem. The nipple had a small ridge of flash on it that I carefully scraped off with an exacto knife. The tiny ridge on the nipple prevents the tubing from sealing all the way around. If you clean the flash at the joint of the two tank halves from the nipple, your problem will be solved. Happy leak free flying.
