I see what all the fuss is about now, the way this bigger heli flies is like a breath of fresh air after flying the nano, bl and 180. No twitchy, spastic movements just rock solid hover and smooth graceful flight. WOW, I love it!!!!! Guess I'll stop blabbing in the 500 section and move over to the 450X forum.

Middle school is over, now I'm a freshman in high school. Very happy at the bottom of the top for now lmao!

I don't think that feeling ever goes away! When that 450 isn't enough for you anymore, and you decide you want that 500, we'll be waiting with the lights on. For now, go thrash your 450!

Only 3 flights in due to the holiday and have been babying her. Usually flip and roll on pack #2, haven't even put it in IU yet lol!! Just got past the new heli jitters but still a hair of pucker left from the size. Main issue is after spending $200 on the heli, $300 on fireworks and another $200 on party supplies, I need to tighten the belt till next payday.

Plus the lhs stocks practically nothing for the 450x, I'll be down 3days if I crash. Sucks cause I want more lipos and really want to go crazy with her. Almost want to crash cause I can't wait to work on it. Gotta get the 1st crash out of the way so I know what spares to stock lol.

Broke or not, going to have to do some flips and rolls today regardless, shouldn't have any trouble keeping it in one piece. Thanks Gladius, sure I'll be back to the 500 forum soon enough. Take care brother and happy flying.

Take your time with the 450, you need some flying time to get the feeling of the heli, so avoid crashes by flying on a sloped ground if possible with high grass or similar. Add flying hours and the future change to a 500 would be easier

Planned on letting loose today but didn't even get close lol. Did up the d/r to 90/0elev/aile/rud and it feels much better than 85/0. Still just doing figure 8's after 6 flights. I love this heli so much I don't want to mess it up and to be honest it's probably a good thing the T500 was a pile cause the 450x gives me a fair amount of pucker lol!!!

It covers ground surprisingly fast even compared to my old walkera 450 and is quite a bit larger as well. Very enjoyable just flying 8s, so stable and not getting pitched up n down in the wind on turns like my other helis.

Very good advice, not ashamed to take things slow and easy even though I have belief in my ability to fly this bird like any of my other helis. Starting to get comfortable and fly it with more speed instead of granny putting along, especially after changing the d/r cause now it feels more natural when I'm flying instead of having to concentrate so hard. Natural muscle memory is kicking in and comfort grows every minute.

Wish I had more than 1 lipo to move things along much faster but patience is supremely important with rc helis, learned that right out of the gate lol. I'm not going anywhere and neither is the 450, no need to rush.

Don't forget:

1. Lipo's about $80 each. Need at least 2x = $160
2. Good charger for 6s that's 5-10 amps capable =$100
3. Power supply at least 250 watts capable = $50
subtotal: $310

4. Crash cost, approx(blades, main gear, boom, TT tube, tail blade, canopy)$100-150

If you consider the 450, it's approx 1/2 the cost:
lipo, charger, power supply: $150
crash cost: 50-75$

Just remember, if you get a cheaper/smaller charger now, then you'll need to buy another one if you decide to go bigger. Depending on your budget and future plans, it may be better to get a charger with more performance right off the bat.
