Default whiplash main shaft 'slop' adjustment.

From the promo info:

Quote:
- Innovative system for setting the main shaft "slop" which does not require a collar or shim
Sounds cool; does anybody have a photo or explanation of this mechanism?

Thanks.
Jim

The bottom bearing block is mounted with slotted holes in the frame. To adjust just slide up or down and tighten the screws.

It sandwiches the main gear hub between the middle and bottom bearing blocks preventing the mainshaft from moving.

Sounds good. I guess w' a nice fat shaft and good fitting bearings, there wouldn't be an issue with it remaining square to the shaft. Are the screws easy to get to and tighten. Would probably suck pretty bad if they came loose.

Thanks for the info.

Also, the fact that there are 3 bearing blocks keeps everything nice and square. It's so easy

My Outrage Fusion 50 has this, and it's easy. On that machine, though, I've had it develop slop over time (I guess the block gets pressed downward in the frames with inverted flight).

Trickybit,

Take a look at the manual, it shows it well.

Bobby's video series on the Whiplash shows it well too. The hole is 'finger calibrated' and even my pudgy finger fit in. Note: it is highly recommended in the instructions and video that there be "NO SLOP" at all (or up/down play) in the main gear assembly.
