Default DX9 throttle question

Bought a new DX9 a few weeks ago. Currently running a 250 pro dfc and a 450 pro dfc, both all stock. I calibrated the radio to both esc's and also calibrated the sticks on the radio. I just noticed on the bench on my 450 that between 100% and about 82% there is no throttle response. I then tried setting ID1 at 90% and ID2 at 100% and again when I switch between the 2 flight modes I get no difference in RPM. I also checked the 250 and it acts exactly the same way. What can I do to fix this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated......

That is not a DX9 problem. All the Align ESC's behave this way.

All the Eflite ESC's are that way too.

In fact, I bet all ESC's are that way.

Just set your throttle endpoint to your 85% point, and then you will have throttle changes even at full stick.

Understand you are not losing power, at that 85% the ESC is running at WOT.

Ok.....I think I'm understanding correctly. I'm running a AR7200 on both machines. So in other words, reset the endpoints on both esc's but when I go into cal mode and calibrate the end point for high stick, use the monitor on the radio and set high stick at 85%. Correct?

I think he's saying that the ESC is ignoring any input above about 85% because it's already going full throttle by then. It's not a calibration thing on the ESC or the transmitter. So if you want to see a change in the throttle through the entire range of the stick movement, then on the transmitter go into Servo Setup > Travel and change the travel amount on the high end of the throttle from 100 to 85. That will make the maximum value of throttle at the top of the stick 85, so you'll see a visible change in throttle all the way to the top of the stick.

Ok.....great, that's easier yet. Calibrating the esc's with the beast is a pita. Thanks for your help.

Good ESC can in facrt be calibrated so that at zero Thro. they are off and at 95 to 100% full thro stick they are full on and give excellent linear responce.

Simple fact is that non of the HH / Blade ESCs come with any instructions on how to calibrate them that I have ever seen. Many do not even turn on (start motor) until around 30% and at 80% they are full on so around 1/2 stick travel useable range.
