Anyone have experience running the KDE 600xf-530 on a 12S Furion 6?

I have two KDE-530 motors running on 12S, but not on a Furion. What questions do you have about the motor?

Running a CC 80hv. Looking for headspeed of 2150. With 11 tooth pinion, will motor be too close to anti rotation pin, will they hit. Also, is there enough headroon with the -530 for the ESC?

12s w/ KDE 600xf-530
I've been using this motor and battery setup in a Trex 550. In the process of building a Furion 6 now and will be transplanting it into this new bird as soon as it's ready. The motor is a beast. I'm not a stick banger, but I do fly the heli. No bogging at all with 553mm main blades and 6min of flight time using 12s 2800mah battery packs. The batteries and motor come down warm to luke warm with the batteries having 25-35% left in them.

Hey I just ordered the KDE 600XF 530 kv and just wondering what I need for ESC. I am a sport flier and will use my Furion to do videos with new GoPro. Had found a guy using 6s 3300 mah bats and he was getting 8 minutes flying time.

Swinging 600mm size blades, you may get away with a 80A ESC like a CC 80HV (EDGE or ICE2). The Align 600Pro/DFC comes configured with a CC 80A ESC, and it seems to work pretty well. However, since you may get peaks over 80A, many pilots tend to upgrade to a CC 120A or equivalent ESC.

80A should be fine. I ran an 80A on a 10S setup for quite some time before I blew it up. Have a 120A now and it's still going. The worst part of the Furion is the narrow section that you mount the ESC (~52mm). Otherwise I'd be running a YGE or YEP 120A.

I know this is not the for sale place. Funny thing happened to me. I bought one of these 600XF 530kv motors direct from KDE. They sent me two of them. Well I want to be honest and do the right thing and return it. KDE said to offer this motor to any friend for 15 % off the $242.00 cost of this motor. Any of you want this baby? Its yours for $205.00 plus shipping and you don't pay taxes on it.
Thanks Paul |
