I know about the German one clear as mud.

First let me say you guys that help are great!

Would you think a CLEAR EASY TO UNDERSTAND video would save a lot of time and many, many questions.

Anyone out there willing to do it Ala Finless???

Man would that be helpful!!!!

I'm seriously considering doing something like this. The only problem is that I would have to remove mine from my Goblin in order to properly show a step by step video. I hate to rip mine apart as I do not have anything other than a Nano to fly when my 630 is out of service.

I'll continue to ponder the idea though. If someone wants to send a doner model I'd be all over it.

This video helped me a lot and along with studying the software drop ins when you hold your mose arrow over the parameters did the trick. This video is for the xtreme and does not get into the sx but to me that is easy to understand of the manual and dropin boxes in the software. The sticky here gets good values as danny tpld me just about exactly the same thing. Here is the video link.

Okay here we go...

Please bear in mind that these were put together in one evening. I am in no way suggesting that these videos cover everything that is useful in setting one of these up, but I would say that at a very very basic level, the intent was to give a very brief overview of setting up a new unit, without tearing mine out of my model and getting too involved on the first go around.

I'll put my neck on the line a little bit here and say that I am open to requests. That is, if you have specific questions or a video tutorial of how you might perform a certain function with either the 8FG (as it relates to interacting with the HC3sX), or the HC3sX setup itself- I am willing to try to scratch where you may be itching.

There is no claim being made that these videos are all encompasing or even helpful at all. This is my first attempt and unscripted, so hopefully it isnt too painful. I don't have all of the editing time and whiz-bang video making software that others have... But hopefully someone might find these of use.

If they do more harm than good, PLEASE (and I sincerely mean this) PLEASE let me know. The last thing I'd want to do is steer someone in the wrong direction.

So again- If anyone has something that needs specific clarification I am happy to help out in any way I can. Please understand that I am just a hobbyist just like the rest of you and am in no way representing HeliCommand in any official capacity.

Thank you.

The next series of videos focuses on setting up the 8FG to easily switch between a profile that uses a knob for adjusting head gain or real time tuning... Or, by switching model profiles in the radio, can easily be set to activate horizon mode and captain rescue.

There is also a video showing how to setup programmable mixes using the 8FG. These mixes will be required in order to setup horizon and bailout.

There will be a video that shows the interaction of the transmitter inputs and how it looks on the software when it is setup correctly.

Finally - There will be a video that shows how simple it is to switch between the two model profiles mentioned above, and how it looks on the software to go between rigid mode to Horizon mode with ease.

NOTE: Although I use a Futaba radio, the screen functionality in the software will be the same with other radios. The end user will just need to program their radio to whatever the equivelant settings are in their radio so that it all works like it should. There are a few people on the forum here that use various kinds of radios and who have contributed to settings that should be used. You ought to be able to program your a non-Futaba radio using those setting and see the same results on the software as in the upcoming videos.

Good job there, Josh! Haven't watched them all but the ones I did seem to explain well. Wish I had your job, don't know how you find the time!

How to switch between easy gain adjustment and horizon/rescue modes using 8FG and HC3sX and software.

***Note*** If you wish to assign "real time tuning" to your radio so that you can fine tune user selectable parameters, you will need to use the tail gyro channel and NOT the channel that was used for setting the head (rigid) gain. The statement at 2:35 in the video was an error.

I like the set up vids Josh. The futaba vids do not apply to me so forgive me as I am gonna skop those. The set up vids were understandable and right to the point which is just what was needed. Nice job!!
