Exclamation Synergy E5 - Official Information Thread

The E5 project just started at the end of January. A prototype is flying at the moment and I will post pictures when I have the canopy sample. There are some new "original" features that could be easily duplicated which is why I have chosen to not release pictures. As you could imagine, this is a very competitive market and I need to take advantage of every original design aspect.

A little more information about the E5 :

- 550 Class Electric Heli
- 10mm main shaft / 8mm head axle
- Machined Delrin Helical Main Gear
- Shaft Driven Tail System
- Monster Mod 1.25 Bevel Gears and Counter Gear
- Lower motor shaft bearing block
- Third main shaft bearing block
- Direct servo to swash CCPM (very similar to the E6/7)
- 52mm inner frame width for multiple motor options
- 25/30mm motor bolt width for multiple motor options
- Washout Arm mounting integrated into the head block
- 6S - 12S battery compartment capability (I am currently running 6S 5000mah packs)
- Easily stretched to 600 class helicopter with E6 parts

I wish I could give you a release date but as until I am closer to pre-production it is very difficult to estimate. Historically models that I have started in January are released in the summer.

Thanks,

Matt

Thanks for the update Matt. I am really looking forward to this one. A couple of questions.

1.) How does it compare in size to a Trex 550 or Logo 500se?

2.) Will it come packaged as just the E5 or as an E5/E6?

3.) Will the head have an integrated swash driver like the KDE upgrade or separate like the E6?

Gscott,

The E5 is very similar in size to the Trex 550, I recently placed the E5 right next to a Trex 550 and the size comparison was very close.

Right now I am planning on releasing it only as an E5.

The head does have integrated swash driver which is very cool looking.

Hope it come's out soon as I've been wanting to pick up another 550 bird.

How many parts will interchange with the E6/7..Main gear, boom mounts, tail box, etc?

What is your current setup? motor/esc,blades

Do you plan on coming out with some 550 Rail blade's.. Maybe some 556's

I would love a synergy that can compete with my x5. The x5 has become my go to heli because of size, power to weight, and only needing 6s. I can keep it in my car and if the mood strikes I can charge and be in the air I about 25 minutes. I would love to have a synergy to do this with.

This will be my first Synergy. I love 550-sized helis. This can't come soon enough.

Thumbs up

I think this will be my start into the world of electric heli's. Have resisted (just!) upto this point as I have investment in nitro.

Would like some info on motor, esc combos so I can start getting stuff together pre kit release.

Mylee, motor and esc combos will depend if you want to run it on 6S, 8S, 10S or 12S.

You don't need a HV controller for 6S and under.

You are right beeflyer, but if you want to put bigger packs then you would already have the ESC no?

Yea but you'd need to change the motor and pinion out too. On my Logo 500 6s V-bar running 560 RT blades stick banging it I was able to hit 180 amp peaks using a Ice 100 so on 6s I'd make the ice 100 the smallest esc you should use IMHO!

Matt,
When do we get to see the first teaser pic? I've always wanted to try a Synergy and I think the 550 will be it. Anything with unstrippable 90 size tail gears gets my money.
