Default Synergy E7 Gear Mesh

So, I have another thread going about my E7 build. I am unsure if I have a problem and will probably post a youtube video.

So, my E5 is really really smooth with little to no resistance from the head to the tail. My E7 has more resistance. Not a lot by any means but it's not as smooth. I converted the tail drive to an 11t pinion and had to change the holes to be able to slide it forward. It took me a few tries to get the proper mesh. I used the paper trick (put a paper in between the two gears and pushed it forward.

This maybe because the gears are new and/or it's a 700 so there should be more resistance.

typically if your getting too much resistance it will be in the delrin spacers/washers on the OWB assembly. I have had to use some wetsand paper and take a little material off of them before. but obviously that can be checked with the motor disengaged so you can tell between the 2, either the delrin spacers, or the gear lash.

I typically do not use the paper trick. that is how I learned how to set gear lash, but now I just go by feel. as long as you can hold the motor still with one hand, then wiggle the main gear back and forth and hear a very very tiny click, you should be good. the spur gear lash, they will typically "run in" and be ok.

those gears are very large and very strong though, so you will be ok.

It took my E7 over 20 flights for the monster gears to break in.

Yeah I spoke with one of my friends at the field and he said his 700l was the same way.
