Greg, what pinion do you think will be the perfect match for around 2400HS (guess it's enough?) and about 75-80% in the Jazz ESC to give it enough headroom fro the governor to work optimal with this motor?
Also, will there be more versions to come on your website? Like the Outrage 1650kV and the 1700kV versions? I think I need to place an order very soon, but I still haven't decided on motor choice. Thanks,

Dude your to hardcore for me.
I'm going to start with the stock Outrage motor and may try different options down the road. Man I'm so excited!! It's becoming a reality just around the corner.

I usually grind my own flat spot on the motor shaft with my teeth.

So let me get this right..... The Outrage 1600 is a full centimeter taller than the Medusa 28-40-1700v2 but manages to come in at nearly half the weight (58 vs. 100g)? That's pretty amazing.
I was planning on getting the Medusa 1700v2 but now this is here. Decisions, decisions. What would you guys do?

Magnets and copper are heavy, a powerful motor is going to be heavy no way around it. Please don't be one of those people who think the KV rating is the only rating.

No, not saying that at all. I just know that Charley wouldn't stand behind a product he doesn't believe rocks so it just struck me that even though it is physically bigger than the Medusa, it's nearly half the weight. That and about $30 cheaper.
I mean don't get me wrong, I think the Medusa rocks and I will likely end up staying with that choice. Charley even said the 1700v2 is "whoop ass in a can" as long as you don't mind a slight increase in weight (42g in this case). We shall see. I'm still hoping for the Castle HV30 to get in stock here in the next week or so. If that's not in by the release date, then I'm going with the HV45.

Man I'm inventing a brushless motor that doesn't even use copper wire or magnets and weighs 20 grams. It also makes 6hp.

I've ran Zpower motors in the past and they pretty good. I think this is a custom made one for Outrage. It's not the most powerful thing out there but it will do the job at an affordable price and weighs very little. The most bang per buck imho.

I'm thinking I'll probably stay with the Medusa 1700v2 for now. I'm willing to spend a few more bucks to get a bigger bang.

Hey guys that 1600 kv motor was designed to be best all around motor. Providing performance and flight time at a good price. This motor I considered the short can version of the Outrage series, HC has been flying it and has shown it to work for demanding 3D with excellent recorded flight times.........
The Outrage1700 kv XL is the long can same dimensional size as Z10 that went into production today as I have been testing it, this is a powerful performance based motor it will meet 98% of the Hard 3D pilots needs out there while still providing good flight time. Also will be offered at a good price All the Outrage motors that will be offered was specs were set by me to meet a multitude of flying styles and skill levels and not break the bank! If you Choose to Ride the Medusa 1700 hold on its has what i call "Stupid Power" this motor has so much power that i have had 3 crashes under power and not even strip main gear or break blades it just sheared the Jesus bolt off clean. of course it has bent some center hubs to........ Just remember if you set up your heli correctly and use the functions within your radio you can achieve most flight performance you are seeking no matter what motor you use. But... then again its all about how fast you get there right Anyway that's the scoop off to bed.........

A great post, Charely!
Will there be more options from Outrage than the 1600kV and the 1700kV XL? How does the power on the Outrage 1700kV XL and the Medusa 1700kV V2 compare? What about flight times? Thanks,

"Stupid power".... That sounds like just what I need then. This way, when I dig a hole in the ground, it'll go half-way to China?
Mabey I should let the super freaks run the 1700v2 while I back it off a tad with the Outrage 1600? I'm torn again. On the fence, so to speak. Oh well, I've got time to decide don't I? Just playin'. This thing is going to rock.
