Finally back in Helicopters, Srimok 90E FBL on its way!
Guys,
Pretty excited, after too much time away from helicopters, I decided to buy a Srimok 90E Cyber Head FBL. I have always admired the Kasama design and innovation! Been going through the threads and finally pulled the trigger. It was between the Vibe E12SG and the Srimok 90E and decided on the Srimok. I should have the kit by the end of the week. So far my setup will be....I have everything else, just waiting on the kit and motor Kontronik HeliJive 120 V11 Kontronik Progdisc for programming Kontronik Pyro 700-52 Thunder Power G6 5000Mah 6S 65C batteries Spektrum AR7200BX JR MP80G Rudder servo JR 8717 on the CCPM Radix 710mm FBL blades and 105mm tails Not looking to 3D the helicopter and looking more for precision F3C type flight with the helicopter. I am looking forward to getting the helicopter and will post some pictures once it arrives. Don't plan on doing any type of build thread, there are already some great documentation threads already. Any inputs are always welcome, this is my first electric helicopter, when i stopped flying helicopters, nitro reigned supreme! Electric is the only way to go for me, now. Take care guys and all the best. Jason

Got the kit in the other day and looking everything over and I am even more impressed now that I see the kit and parts in person. The quality is just outstanding. Very happy with the purchase!
I did have a little time in the garage this afternoon and got a couple steps done. Like I said the build thread/videos from Mercuriell cover everything in detail so I am not going to do any type of build thread, but if you guys don't mind seeing another go together, I will post some pics along the way. I decided to buy the Fullsize V-Bar V 5.2 instead of using the AR7200BX. I really like the interface and programming via the computer from Mikado and have heard great things about it. In addition to this being my first electric helicopter, this will also be my first flybarless, so I have been doing tons of reading to catch up to what I have missed in the last five years. Both the V-Bar and the batteries should be in by the end of next week. More to follow guys and if you guys have any inputs, please feel free to post them. Take care guys and talk to you soon! Jason

Im very interested to see you photos and any comments you have on the build as I will be getting one shortly..
You have certainly taken a massive leap forward, Kasama heli, first electric and FBL.. Take your time and ask questions if your not sure. |

I have been wanting a Kasama helicopter for awhile now, I real like the design and layout of the helicopter. My last helicopter was a Synergy N9 with a Flybar, so it is a little bit of a learning curve, but starting to catch back up the more I read. Talk to you later and thanks for checking out the thread! Jason

It's a fun build. Though my build was a bit different than yours. I just recently finished a Srimok ECO build. I looked at the Faifa, but nitro is more convenient for me. Though with that said I just preordered an electric of different brand.
I too went with Vbar for my Srimok. I've run CGY 750s since they came out, but decided to try something different. The PC based set up of the vbar is nice. Enjoy the rest of your build.

The only thing I noticed is that the pinion is not centered on the crown gear and it seems, maybe my eyes are playing tricks on my, that the mesh on the O.D. of the crown gear is a little tighter than the I.D. of the crown gear. Indicating that the angle of the pinion may be just slightly different than the angle of the crown gear. I can not adjust any of those items out, and the only things I can adjust is the mesh/backlash. I did adjust the backlash at the high point of the crown gear. Everything seems smooth to me and I will re-check with the motor installed, once I can run it. Any pointers or anything I may have missed here guys, please let me know. Couple of pictures of my crown gear to pinion fit. Talk to you guys soon, take care. Jason

Jason,
You have probably already watched the videos Mercuriel has posted on setting the TT mesh at the Kasama factory with Gavin B and Mr. Kasama. Just incase you havent here is the link: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=148457 There are some other videos which maybe useful whilst your doing your build.. |

The only other thing to note was how tight the servo horns are, I know they are not going to come off anytime soon! At this point really enjoying the build, what a great helicopter, requires the builder to take time during build and set-up, but I think it will be well worth it! Picture of current state of assembly. Take care guys. Jason

OK, I do have my first question and I am sure this is going to sound like a total beginner question, but I am going to ask anyway. I feel fairly confident in my soldering ability, but getting ready to solder the connectors on the motor using the Kontronik 4mm bullet connectors and the motor leads are a little too small to make contact within the entire I.D. of the bullet connector. Does not look ideal to me and these are the only connectors Kontroniks makes to my knowledge. Do you just solder it to one side on the inside of the bullet? I feel stupidasking this question but the ESC leads are a perfect fit and the motor leads are a bit off. Just inquiring, Thanks for any inputs.
Additionally, the picture shows the female connector on the motor side, I would of course use the female on the ESC side, not on the motor side, picture is for referrence. Had a few minutes this morning and got the other two servos installed.
