R50 Clutch liner

I had a hot start today a tore up my clutch liner. The spare liners that I have on hand seems to be a bit too short - leaves about a .2 inch gap within the bell. Anybody have this issue?

I am considering splicing the liner to eliminate the gap ( I have several new spare liners) and bond it to the bell with JB weld. The splice will be at about a 45 degree angle.

Any body know of any other material that I could use as a liner?

I'm lazy I guess I just buy a new bell with clutch liner already installed
But if you have clutch liner material and it is to short it is probably not the right liner
I would double check the part numbers

Thanks. The part numbers seem to be right ones. I am trying to locate a clutch bell with the liner already installed.

when you smoke a clutch you should replace the whole clutch both the bell and the inner clutch as a set .

Before you put everything back together I'd check and make sure your fan is still on tight. When I had my hot start the next time I went out and flew the fan came off and pushed against the top of the clutch and locked everything up.

I mean the clutch pushed against the top of the clutch bell.

You all know what I mean.

Thanks - I made sure the fan was on tight. It is back in the air now. So far so good.
