MA tail question
Why does MA choose to make their tail a "pusher" rather than a "tractor?" I cannot think of another company that places the tail to the left, other than MA (not saying there are not others).
Is there a mechanical advantage, just their "thing," or legacy from the past? Curious, more than anything. Thanks |

My answer is, I don't know! But if I had to think of a reason it would be something like this:
Having the rotor on the left means that in hovers and ff the blades are cutting in to clean air rather that having to draw it through the tail fin and associated mechanics (I'm completely ignoring the effects of the rotor downwash etc!) But it sounds good to me!!

Truth is, maybe the extremely demanding FAI pilot would notice the difference, but it didn't seem to hold back any of our pilots (or Avant's pilots). It's likely that all of our new models from now on will have the T/R on the right side, just for consistency if nothing else.
