EagleTree V3 problem
Hi All,
I have a problem with one eagle tree V3 logger unit mounted on a Logo600 (10S battery). The logger configuration has just the brushless motor speed interfare connected. I'm facing the following problems : - RPM are logged only if above 15000 rpm - battery voltage is always at 0 volts (only in one case I've seen a spike at the proper voltage) eve if the current is measured correctly If I log those values in live mode with the PC connected (bench test) I can see all the values correctly and also the rpm are visible from very low values. I tried also not to connecte the brushless motor speed interface but also in this case the battery voltage remains at zero value. I think there's something broken inside, any guess on what could it be. Many thank in advance for the help! Ben |

Do you mean to say the only difference between good and bad readings is the USB Cable being connected to the PC?

Hi Jeff,
yes, I mean, if you have the usb connected and you look at the parameters through the PC display, they are all ok; at the bench, you start the motor you correctly see the rpm from the beginning (low rpm) and battery voltage is always read correctly. If you try and fly or log the parameters without being connected, it logs only rpm above 15000 (more or less) and it doesn't log the voltage (always to 0). I also suspect a power supply problem, when you are connected to the PC the power supply is provided by the USB... Ben |

I don't have an answer but I had a similar problem with my V2 logger about 2 months ago, wouldn't log anything unless USB or external power was connected to the usb port. I decided to cut the shrink off and see if anything obvious was at fault before ordering a new one, I used to be an electronic bench engineer so figured i may be able fix it, anyway, after half an hour prodding around with a meter I couldn't find a fault. Then I decided to plug it in and try it one more time before heading down to the shop for a new one, it worked!! It's logged about sixty flights since and I still have no idea what was wrong.

Hi Andrew,
I did exactly the same! ..but the last part.. I'm an electronic engineer so I tried to see if I could do something, I removed the heat shrink and look at the board but I wasn't able to find anything wrong so I put it on the shelf... After your experience I'll try it again because I noticed one thing, the condenser on the rpm input was touching the hall sensor output (..or input...I can't remember...) and seemed to be skatched even if it doesn't seem to reach the metal of the condensed case. In your opinion, if the case of the condenser touches the hall sensor output, could it be responsible for such a problem? Thanks Ben |
