Default How Hot Do Your Tail Motors Get?

I want to not worry about this too much but I am .
I have had two motors go up on me , well one turned out to be tail boom wiring . I fly everyday if for at least one pack . I have yet to do a real control study but it seems that that at times they do get pretty hot but may cool down quickly .So when I thought that my motors were not getting too hot it may have been that I just not check them quick enough. There were times I thought they did not get hot at all so then I think when I do find heat something is wrong .How hot do your tail motors get ?

I got some of these and used a dremel to cut to fit so that they didnt obstruct the air intakes on the motors:

If I fly when it's cool out at night or in the house with the ac on it barely gets warm but if I'm flying outside during the day it gets pretty hot.

You may laugh but I always check mine with my lips..lol During the day it gets almost too hot to touch it to my lips.

Ok so I'm not as weird as i thought..lol

I weld so the skin on my fingers are pretty tough, makes it hard to tell if somethings hot unless it's red hot.

Wow... I simply use an FLIR IR gun to check for temperature issues on my choppers and other things too... and never once did these lips touch the tailmotor!
