I'm thinking about getting a Goblin 630 pushrod and cutting it to size. Did that on my X5 and it worked out great.

Hmph, what a joke. Wish they'd send the entire rod in pieces so that we could just cut it to size.

Thanks for that link. I may have come across that one when I was on the computer the other day.

Edit, I just shaved a bit of the ball link off and it all setup fine.

Thanks again for the help. Everything is done, just waiting on some warm weather to maiden this beast.

I'd think xt 60 connectors would be fine on the batteries. I'm using deans on my batteries, but I used an ec5 on the end of my y harness to and from the esc.

I'm about to tackle the electronics and wiring install. I'm going to use a bec pro. Looking at the following diagram:

http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...ro_wiring.html

Do I still use the supplied voltage regulator? If anyone has pics of their install with bec pro that would be great.

The bec eliminates the need to use the supplied regulator.

I mounted mine on the left side of the electronics tray, but I use a 2s flight pack with mine.

Hi there, very nice build!

Please tell me what links have you used between the swash and blade grip link? I’m currently have trouble getting some good quality links, those look much better than the ones I currently use?

Thanks!

I'm just using the stock ones that came with the kit. Haven't had an issue so far.

Are you talking about the little metal rings around the plastic link end? Those came with my DFC kit. I tried looking around on Amainhobbies.com to find them or see what parts kit they come in, but couldn't find them. You might have better luck finding the rings yourself, they aren't built into the plastic link end, it's a little ring that slips on for reinforcement.

I have a pair of Zippy Compact 3300 mAh 6S 35C batteries. They are light and fit very nicely but don't perform quite as well as my other batteries, but are still good options if you aren't extremely hard on the sticks. I have two pairs of Winmax Nano-Platinums 3300 mAh 6S 50-100C. I got the Winmaxes in a group buy with a few friends. They are performing very well and haven't the slightest sign of wear. They balance perfectly and come down barely warm at all.

I didn't use the included regulator because a lot of people seem to have issues with it. I decided a simple 2S LiFe battery would make things more simple with less parts to fail. Although 7.2V is considered a full charge on a 2S LiFe, it drops immediately to 6.6V and stays there. I have a Nano-Tech 2S 1600 mAh LiFe and each flight takes about 150 to 200 mAh out of it.

I didn't use mine since it just looks so flimsy... However I have read of a lot of people using them for sport flying and mild 3d with no problems even on 700s, apparently.

I have used the Align regulator on helis and planes and never had a problem. I have only heard of one person having a problem and that was a capacitor coming adrift. Somehow I do not think Align are going to risk using dud equipment. They have been in the game too long and this particular regulator has been around for a long time and if there was a problem they would have fixed it. There is some sense in eliminating it though by using LiFe. A lot of people do this and I have not heard of any problems in doing it. It might shorten the life of the servos but again I have never heard anyone actually claim this happened. I would however only do it using quality servos which are probably under rated in their spec.

Not really, but I am using a Turnigy bec and that works great. From what I hear the Align becs work, but aren't the best.

I can't recall any issues though.

I hope to have mine in the air soon. Waiting on some lipos. Seeing a video of my flying would be pretty boring.
