Yes Tom One Guy (Me) told you it was just over 12mm wide because it is.

Why do you not believe me? you could always just measure your belt.. that's right you dont have a Goblin.. you are just an expert on them that accuses other owners of not having one.

Cool it mate and try to remember the 'Fun, Learning, Friendship and Mutual Respect' that this forum stands for.

I've built, setup, and flown one for a local buddy who is now on holidays so no I cannot measure it right now. When I built it I compared the belt to one of my old 9mm Ion-2x belts and I though it looked about the same, but not 100% sure now (old age memory, lol).

Just wanted confirmation so that we are all clear what the actual widths are since some may want to look at specing out local supplies of belts and pulley's.

Thanks for the picture showing the measurement nutbag. I'm sure you are correct, it's a 12mm belt not 9mm as stated earlier by SAB admin. Probably explains why the Goblin belt drive appears to be heaps better than my old Ion-x2 belt drive which was only 9mm (just measured again myself). Belt life should be a lot higher too. All good news imho.

Cheers,
TomC

Only one in 5 year, then you're not talking from the heart mate, lol! HF Moderators take the action, not me btw. I've had lots worse squabbles (incl. reports) over my last 7 years with HF and in all cases we have ended up as good heli-mates. Hope the same works out here.

Many thanks again for your picture showing the true motor pulley belt width (12mm). It explains a lot why the Goblin belt system works so much better than my old Ion-2x (9mm) belted system. Thanks

Cheers,
TomC

the parts list says 9mm width for the main drive belt
http://www.goblin-helicopter.com/sho...ROUP_rev01.pdf
So perhaps this is the redesign in drive train why it was delayed?

Helical main gear and pinion should not have any up or down movement, if you have movement you need to use the shims that come in the kit to remove any play.

Is it normal for the motor to become hot after flight? My 630's scorpion becomes too hot to keep my hand on after a flight.

Old post, but anyway, my G700 belt is a Gates 240-3MGT-13

13mm wide.

Not a standard width for Gates - their closest match is a 240-3MGT-15

Hello,

I noticed on my 630 that the tail blade has a few degrees of rotating play on it. It moves back and forth with no belt movement. Seems odd! Apparently I have a worn part?
