Talking My First Inverted Hovers!!

Wahhooo!!!

I have just got home from the field & I have just got to tell you guys that I nailed my first inverted hovers today!!

I am still buzzing, fantastic stuff!! I held the first couple early in the morning before the wind came up But did a few more later with a 15nt breeze. I still have a lot more practice to do yet but holding them for about 10sec is a a start!!

I'm totally chuffed can you tell??!!!

Cheers
Graeme

Just remember that when you hover a whole pack inverted, and the timer goes off, you have to flip it back over to land heheheh
Well.. you don't "have" to..

Happy Flying!

Thanks fella's,

Yea Mike, it was absolutley awesome. I was looking at it & it was almost sureal - I was thinking, I'm doing it!! I'm actually hovering this thing upside down!! WOW!!

Xodarap - I am very much looking forward to hovering a whole pack inverted. I'm going to work up to it slowly though. I noticed during my last flight of the day yesterday when I flipped it back right way up I momentarily dumb thumbed it. The same thing happened when I pushed through the nose in barrier - I forgot how to tail in hover!!

Cheers
Graeme

Are you hoving inverted "tail in" or "Nose in"?

One of the local pros had me try it nose in.....go from a tail in hover....flip backwards....and hold it at the halfway point inverted.....it seemed pretty easy because the nose still responds correctly to the rudder stick....and push fwd for nose up.....I messed up after a nice several seconds and pulled back instead of pushing to come out of it......and it was a $100 mistake...!! In fact a friend of mine just fixed my 3200 30c lipo today....he had aluminum solder....if not I could have added another $120 to the crash price.

I went flying friday with the cf and was so nevous I couldn't try inverted......my plastic frame is all ready again and I will try it next time out....

it's great when you do something new.....and inverted is one of the best....

Good job! 10 sec is a long time, its like eternity when you first start to do them.

IMHO, inverted hover is a big hurdle. I'm getting close, but I need more work.

You know when you can do upright and inverted piros you are ready for piro flips!

Nose in Mike. Yep it's fairly easy when you pluck up the courage to have a go!! I did a lot of practise on the sim to prepare for it & then the first attempts where up quite high.

I think you mean the aileron is the same, the rudder is taking a bit of getting used to. I have to think about it. The way I am remembering is to to turn the rudder in the direction the nose needs to go. It will become automatic soon I'm sure.

I have the same bail out plan - apply more neg pitch & push forward cyclic. So far bailing out has worked ok.

Vic - Yes 10 sec does feel like a long time.!!

Skigolfmike - Piro flips are a way off yet!!
Cheers
Graeme
