Default battery charger

Anybody out there have any problems with the charger that comes with the rtf version? Today went to charge a battery and the AA batteries got extremely hot and the battery didn't charge. Thought the batteries were bad so I put a fresh set in and they started warming up as soon as i put the last battery in.Sorry but I'm new at this.

Sounds like you have a short somewhere in the charger.

That's what I came up with too, just wondered if anyone else had the same problem or if I am an isolated case.

I haven't heard of anyone with this problem. The supplied charger seems to be pretty durable.

Personally, I didn't like to wait for so long to get into the air so I ordered Thunder Power TP103CQ 4 port charger and a few more batteries. Charger was $35 and 3 batteries cost me $23. For less than $60 I never wait to fly and the charger never overheats.

Personally, I would just scrap the single port charger. Charging one batt at a time got old really fast for me. I have had good luck with the celectra 4 port charger that came with the original mSR. Very simple to use and I even charge my mCPX batteries with it and hardly ever have down time. If you could find one used on the cheap side, it may be an option to consider. I wouldn't buy one new because you can get a more advanced charger for the same money.

Are the mCP X batteries the same size as the mSR X? I wonder if I could use the same charger when I get my mCP X?

MSRX RTF comes with a 150 and is the most common size for them.

Yes the one port charger kinda sucked with out the AC adapter, but I thought it should last more than 2 months. Wife has a job where she brings home endless AA batteries, I was really knocking that pile of them down.I'm going to miss that, still a large amount to go. I ordered a 4 port charger on ebay. Just have to wait for it to come.I hope I can make it through the withdrawls before it comes, all my batts are dead. DAMN HOBBY!!!
