Default Ouch...

Had the misfortune of watching my friend crash his HBFP like this across the top of his gorgeous Acura TL. a row of scuffs, a bad scratch, and at least a couple of dings (one pretty noticeable). Ouch. True, these kinds of accidents remind you why you're supposed to keep valuable things away from your helis...and your helis away from your valuable things!

Had a similar thing happen @ my club. It was a fairly windy day and Some old guy was lecturing me about how dangerous my trex 600n is (not that I was doing anything wrong). 10 minutes later he is flying his plank, loses control when he is landing, and crashes into my dads 2 month old bmw m5.

OUCH!

How bad was the damage?

What is the arrangement with the other guy with regards to the repair needed?

Umm, your auto insurance may cover the helicopter as well. I know that if I were to bump my head getting out of my car, my insurance will cover my broken glasses. It would be a property damage claim. I would check with your insurance agent first before adding it to the hood damage claim.

It is possible that if you have personal liability with your home owners insurance that your insurance will cover the heli and the car you hit due to your negligence. I made sure that my liability limits covered if I shot someone on my property, not just dog bites.

PS I work for an insurance company. If you have a HO3 policy check with your agent it will probally be covered.
