Default Something to be said for learning all the basic orientations?

I don't know guys.... I have been simming my tail off the past few months trying to make progress without throwing 100's of dollars at it.... I've had Phoenix for years so until lately it was pretty much useless to me trying to run on Pentium IV.... Ended up never simming and trying to progress manually if you will.

With the help of some of the European Compass guys and a decent laptop that will actually run the program properly I see the real benefit in the sim. Finally getting to the point where I can recover from most unusual attitudes without destroying the aircraft...

I'm thinking whomever said forward and inverted upright and reverse before tictocs etc. pretty much knew what they were talking about....

Yep, Bert has talked about this in his Learning 3D videos on SmackTalkRC.

He and bobby also did a whole video on sims and how to use them.

I don't know why I never though about using the speed setting to slow down the sim to learn new stuff, and then speed it up to 125% to perfect maneuvers but this has helped me greatly.

The I go try it out on the 450, the the Pantera, then the Logo.

Hmm I never actually thought about slowing it down either, just faster. I may have to try that out in a few hours…

This is exactly what I do. It makes a BIG difference. And I slowly keep increasing the simm speed as a perfect the stick movements. And I do the same with the heli configuration for its overall agility. Generally speaking, consistent dimming creates a huge break through in a 2 week period of focused study on a new move.

The other thing I do is I don't simm for more then 15 min before a break, even if 5 min. That simms to allow my brain to record more, vs longer sit downs periods. So, I will simm for 15, work for 30 min, simm for 15, work for 30, etc., etc. For a few hours.
