Default Walker 450 and a Skookum 720, HELP

OK, yes, I had some spare time and an extra Skookum 720 w/GPS.

I installed it on the Walker 450, all went well and easy. All bench tested out.

Then came field day. I knew something was wrong right off the bat. It acted like the batter was low. I immediately shut it down, brought it inside and started checking it out.

Voltage to the 720 and motor was Low, and the warnings were present when I hooked my 720 up to my laptop.

QUESTION: For some reason, my Walker ESC does not like the Skookum 720.

I verified the ESC was Good, in fact I tried a known good one as well.

Anybody had this or a similar instance?

Dennis

Easy fix, remove the skookum and gps and sell them to me, problem solved

But if that doesnt work, sounds like you are possibly overloading your esc's internal bec.
Try an external bec/battery pack.

Ok, seriously, has anyone tried adding a system like the 3SX to the Walker 450D03?

I am just wanting a practice Heli, but would like a system on it to play around with.

Thanks, Dennis

in my opinion, walkera electronic do not play well with non walkera staff. I did switch the walkera fbl to Hc3x on my 450d03. I had a tail vibration that i could not get ridr of following a bad crash. i furegured out something was wrong the fbl. i put in the hc3x and vibration gone. the bird flow very well on the hc3x, but i had two crashes due to servo failling.i did replaced all the servo after the first crash, but one of the new servo died with less than 5 flight, So when I get some extra money, i may tried different servo, unfortunately, with the 450d03 my option are very limited. My best guest would if you still planning on using the sk720, go ahead on get a new esc and servo.
