Helis vs. Planks?
It can be a hard choice to make: http://www.youtube.com/verify_age?ne...%3Da_5n3HlbJ70

Hhhhahguaahahaa! You guys are too much... I didn't think so many people shared my opinions on NASCAR. Feels like I'm reading my own thoughts in here.

I feel your pain man... we get the same thing fishing in the bay, but instead of wake-boarders we get arrogant rich dudes with cigarette boats.

For example...

Nah, it's flyfishermen versus everyone else.
I love my fly fishing (salt water) but some of the guys act like utter plankers.
I guess it's a superiority thing with it stemming from being a "gentleman's" sport.

And all of a sudden, I think I've just realised why you get a 90.

Word...

Just google Lake Pend O' Reille. Huge lake, all the idiot wakeboarders doing their crap by me. Made no sense, I was not fishing in the areas where the water was good for wakeboarding. Knotheads.

Of course there is Fly fishing vs Bass fishing. In a way, bass fishing is the Nascar of fishing, I hate to say. Still my preferred form, I liked zipping around from spot to spot, gettin' my fish on and zippin' to the next spot. Fly fisherman hike way up to some little stream or lake and that 1.5 lb Brookie is the cats arse...

Then there is road bikes vs mountain bikes, downhill vs xc biking vs AM biking, it goes on and on....

Planes vs Helis, whatever. I do both, they both have their place. I prefer helicopters but sometimes it is fun trying to perfect those 10 mph crosswind landings. BTW, for those who think you learn it all with a plane in three weeks, I call BS. I've been doing planes for a year and am nowhere close to doing it all.

Sometimes it is nice to kick back and BS while the old timers have Cub races for ten minutes. They pay their club dues like the rest of us...

I meant on the sim, not in real life, I haven't had a go in real life like that, so it may be unrealistic it is just my veiw of it.

Too complicated? In NASCAR, 'composite' = Bondo! They have not even really gotten their heads around fuel injection- but then, that has only been around 70 years...

Toe strikers vs heel strikers in endurance running. That's a funny one because although many (maybe most) people's footstrike (the point each stride first makes contact with the ground) is with their heel, in front of their centre of balance, striking with a toe or midfoot stance beneath your hips is unquesionably superior in pretty much every way. I say 'pretty much' to be polite. The argument-ender is 'try running heel first, barefoot on concrete and see how far you get'. Not far. Of course, the same thing with a toe or midfoot strike is perfectly acceptable and many African runners go barefoot until they're in their teens. Heel striking is enabled through overbuilt modern 'joggers' (the first Nike Cortez was the first to raise the heel in 1972, which was its gimmick - prior to that runners wore racing flats) and biomechanically, the stride is unsound. The only real disadvatage to toe striking is it's very hard on the calves initially and they need to be carefully built up first. This is painful, so many runners stick with heel striking and just argue it's the same. It's not. But the golden rule always is everyone do what they like, and we should never forget it!

sailboats vs powerboats.. (fullscale) .. I enjoy both in the 14' -19' affordable size.
you would not believe the competition for waterspace sometimes.

Ford v Chevy. American LeMans v Rolex. Stick bow v Compound. Diesel v Gas. Blonde v Brunette v Redhead. There are a bunch. This thread could go on for quite awhile.
