Default question, what flybarless controllers support 5 blade heads?

I've been looking and the only one I'm sure of is the sk360 and sk720, But its so expensive.

Im not sure but I cant see why it would matter how many blades there were.

If you can mechanically set the proper swashplate phasing/timing, you don't NEED the electronic stabilization.

I believe that most, if not all, of the electronic stabilizers allow for electronically setting the swash timing, so they "should" work just fine, but YOU wil have to again set the proper phasing/timing.

You can use any flybarless controller, with a 5 blade head.
Before you can fly a multi blade rotor head, you must either phase the rotor head mechanically or electronically.

The question that you meant to ask is "which flybarless controllers have electronic phasing?".

Skookum SK360/720, Mikado and BeastX all have electronic phasing.

Align 3G, Gaui GU365, CYE Total-G, SJGD FS600, Inertia Axiom FBL, Turnigy V-Bar 600 all do not have electronic phasing.

Yes, you can mechanically phase the rotor head and fly without e-stab, but it will not be very fun to do!
The more the wind blows, the more difficult it will become to control.

The Helicommand HC3-Extreme and HC3-SX have electronic phasing adjustment. The Helicommand X-base can be updated online to incorporate it.

Hi,

I have a 5 blade head for my trex 500 and have a gyrobot 700. Do I need to set up the 5 blade head with the transmitter first so taht I get the phasing right? And do I then set up the gyrobot 700? Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks

Cheers

Just looked over the manual.
The Gyrobot does not have electronic phasing.

Yes, you will need to perform mechanical phasing setup with your rotor head and TX.
Then zero all the trim and ATV settings in your radio, and redo the zero pitch trim in the
Gyrobot.

Oooph. What about a Tri-Blade setup on a 450? I use a 2702V on it, and... I don't think it has electronic phasing.

The only problem I think I did have on it, the gyro for the tail was set too high, and it would overheat and freak out on me. But when I turned it down, it seems stable as far as hovering.

If the swash to blade grip links are straight up and down, it has electronic phasing.

If the swash to blade grip links are angled, it is mechanical phasing.

Hi

Does anyone know what I have done wrong?

I have phased my 5 blade head mechanically and have a gyrobot 700 electronic flight controller.

When I lift of my Heli moves quickly to the left and backwards (as seen when I am standing at the tail of the Heli)

The awash is exactly level all blades are tracked and at 0 degrees at centre stick all linkages same length

Any help would greatly appreciated

Thanks

It sounds like your center of gravity is off.

You'd have to straighten two of the 5 blades out so the heli is faced towards you (tail or nose) holding the inner part of the blade horizontally. That way you can feel if the back or front is heavier, and try to balance it out by moving the battery or adding weights on the back end.

Hope that makes some sense. lil hard to explain.

Question 5 blade head and gyrobot

I hope I have posted this in the right place now.

I have a 5 blade head mechanically phased and a gyrobot 700 on my heli.

I have checked all the usual suspects on set up ie phasing, swash level, links all same length, pitch set correctly and adjsuted for centre of gravity.

My Heli flies fast left each time I lift off (when looking at it from the tail) Has anyone got any ideas why this is happening as I have run out of ideas?

Many thanks

Cheers

I suppose the *gyrobot 700* provides electronic stabilization?

Not sure what to advise on that since I'm not familiar with that system. However, I do recall that basically 4 to 5 blades you really don't need electronic stabilization.

I suppose all 5 blades are balanced?

Can you turn the sensitivity down to see if its over correcting?

What class heli are you flying? (450,550, 600, ect)

I don't think I have any advise ta give you, but perhaps keep trying.

Its A trex 500 which I want to ut inside a seaking fuselage. I was thinking that maybe its the gyrobot over correcting, i may tray a normal gyro and see what happens.

Thanks

Hi Rob,

I am trying to set up my 5 blade head on my trex 500 with helicommand.

I know that if its set up mechanically the links are at 90 degrees and twisted around the
swash.

As I will be setting up with electronic phasing should my links be vertical or do I still need to set them at 90%?

Any help or pictures woudl be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
