Default I freely admit I was wrong!

I once thought that one helicopter was enough, but I freely admit I was mistaken. When it's a great flying day, and you have a fellow freak to fly with, you don't want to take the chance that something can ground your only bird and spoil the fun. Sooooo...

I've got a Knight 3D and a handful of servos, an engine, and a bunch of stuph I didn't know existed 6 months ago, ordered and on the way. It feels like old times, wading through all the great Finless videos again, and trying to decide what components I need and working up the ambition to clean off my work bench!

I kinda surprised myself by getting a nitro, but I had a chance to fly Airbasher's Raptor 50, and I thought, "I want a heli that smokes too!" It's a lot of new stuph to learn, but what the heck, I guess that's half the fun.

Welcome to Compass bro! The K3D is a killer machine and you will surely be quite thrilled by it if you even remotely like the Rappy 50 (no offense towards Raptors, but they don't have anything on a Knight!). Enjoy!

Thanks for the comments, fellow freaks!

My kit finally arrived today. The work area was all cleaned up, the lawn was mowed, the summer homeowner projects where under control. It was time to start building. Yes!

It's gonna take me awhile to finish this, but I have a feeling this is gonna be a good project.

Default Progress

Here's a shot of the bird tonight when I hung everything on her just to get an idea how the CG was gonna come out.

Hopefully the maiden won't be too much farther away, maybe in a week or two. Got an RX battery on order, plus some hardware to help me move the balls out a bit on the swash to get my cyclic gain a little more in order for the V-bar. Man, this thing has been quite a project, but I'm thinking it's gonna be worth it.

Thanks. But I wouldn't get too jealous, it hasn't flown yet!

I went with the RJX head. It seemes like it gets decent reviews, and it looks pretty good, to me at least. And the price was reasonable enough. I was hoping the Compass head would be available, but it wasn't, so I went with what I could get.

Oh crap! You shouldn't have shown me that John! Now I'm going to "need" one and I don't think my wife will quite understand.
