I'm using the stock straight gear but wouldn't mind changing to the helical to make it quieter

this is a 4s motor you might be able to run it at 6s but heres the deal
running that motor at 6s would require you to run a 8 tooth pinion to get your specs even close to the 3400rpm mark with a 121t main gear which is what the helical gears are
that I know of the only make an 11t 12t 13t and 14t for the slant gear and I found those in differnt places
at 3400 your still only at 85.8% with a 8t pinion

your going to have to goto the staight gear set instead of the slant

on a 150t main gear you will want a 9t pinion giving you a almost perfect 3400rmp at 94.5%
3250 seems to be the sweet spot but alot of people like a little extra headspeed and 3400 is that stop more that this and your just wasting power

Default What is consider a good gross weight for a Trex 450 pro fbl 6s setup?

I'm getting close to finishing my first build with a Trex 450 Pro FBL. I think it will be around 860-865 grams overall weight. Just ordered the Spektrum AR7200BX and the MKS DS8910A+ and that will be the only thing left to install, which both have a combine weight of 46.6 grams according to Manufacteres' specs. The heli weight right now is 815 grams and that is with the TM1000 Telemetry receiver, if is compatible with the AR7200BX and can be useful. If I don't use the TM1000, then is around 800 grams + 46.6 grams and overall weight would be 846.6 +/- a few grams. Is this a good overall weight, or too heavy or too light?

Chief it is recommended not to run in Outrunner Mode for PWM setting. Has been known to cause motors to lock up. Castle no longer uses it as the default setting in its newer firmwares. For that motor id try 12 or 16 Khz. And if you are using stock servos you could run the BEC at 6V's.

heres what the readyheli calculator gave me when i put in this:

150t main
13t pinion
6s
2010kv
peak efficiency 90

Results from the calculation Close Result for calculation:
Estimated lowest voltage during flight: 20,34
Lowest RPM (due to voltage and efficiency) : 3188

Castle program warning that max is at: 3306
a little over that is OK, it's just a warning

Result is made to match that of the Castle link program

Explain these results

Yep its a 6S motor, says so in the link. If Castle Link is saying 3300 is the max headspeed id try 3100-3200 for a bit of headroom. Check your logs and if power output is hitting 100% lower it some more.

I have been flying a 15T pinion with my 1700kv 450MX, then switched to the 12T helical/slant gear and pinion. I decided to try a 16T straight pinion that I had laying around for fun. I run a 100% flat throttle curve, this 3200/3300 set rpm stuff doesnt cut it for me....[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuFa9dKZUmI&feature=plcp[/ame]

I'm really not sure but it is high! Running 13.5 degrees of pitch with the DFC head and this thing is quick, it is harder on my lipos and does draw more amps though with the 16T vs the 15T I had on there.
