Had the same problem , all checked out well but my trim had a mind of its own , striped down the servo only to find that the axle on the main gear was broken , the funny thing was that when i was holding the servo arm it all felt O.K ( Hitec digital servo , somting like HS 5**** )

I took the blade off and turned the screw inside the grip on the feathering shaft to see if the other grip had any wobble. Is that the correct way?

no, best way is to put it on some machinists V-blocks and use a dial indicator to check the wobble. A few thousands you wont see with your eye but it could be enough to throw things off. Replace the feathering shaft and main shaft and dont look back. Any time the blades hit you should replaced them.
