Are you guys still flying your 500N's on a regular basis? I heard the kit was no longer being sold, is this true?

I contacted Rotary USA yesterday as I'm interested and according to them the kit is still available. There is a 5-7 day lead time. I'm guessing they're making them on a per order basis.

RotaryConcepts 500N assembles nice. I just put one together with a 7200bx, i balances pretty good. can't wait to get it to the field.

Communication/response is very good for a small business. my call and emails get returned immediately, ship parts the same week.

I just had a partial maiden flight on my Jurassic. Read on to find out what I mean by partial. The bird setup is very smooth and stable but I had a an electronic issue and after resolving I will be pleased with the bird.

I used the same setup suggested in the Jurassic manual with the align 2 in1 regulator and had the electric 6v fan wired on the 6v output from the regulator. The fan pulls too much current from the 7200bx causing it to go into safe mode resulting in a throttle cut. Guess I should have hooked it up to a meter before breaking out. I moved the fan splice in front of the regulator, on the battery input connection. Added couple of dioeds between the fan to reduce to the recommended V and mounted with a jst plug so I can turn it off.

+1 Helie is Tons-O-Fun to fly flybarless. It screams with an OS37sx and 50size muffler. Stable as a rock. 8-10 minute flights.

Have both and when everything is working alright they are very similar in performance and both extremely fun to fly, the Gaui wins for me at least in maintainability. The long shaft extension on the Rex conversion is relatively complicated and one needs to clearly understand what one is doing during the build to have this part of the conversion perform well.
