Default Does anyone run the jive 80 HV on the 500?

Hi everyone

curious to know if anyone runs the jive 80 hv esc on a trex 500. Or is this overkill? If so, what is the best motor to use ? I am looking to use the new hyperion 6S 2600 35C packs.

Thanks for your help

Andy

For the stock 500L motor, it would be overkill, as it only draws 45amps peak current. But it would be a good match for something like the Scorpion 1400kV.

a 60 lv would be enough or a 60 hv if you want to run 8s

i would run a Hacker - A40-12S 8 Pole, same power as scorpion 1400 but lighter and no problems with bearings

Default Thanks for your response

I was indeed going to go forward with a scorpion motor as well. Going to use a 6S 2500 mah setup

Thanks again

Yes it's overkill but my Eagletree tells me my T-rex peaks at about 90A so unless it's a Kontronik get a controller that can handle 80A continuous at least.

Ps: this is with a Scorp 1600Kv. A very nice motor once you suply it with proper bearings
