With all the remote receivers I have the way to identify the one for the AR8000 is by the TID # HT008X on the remote.
This has been known for some time. If HH is saying they just discovered this with your receiver, they're either lying or they have their heads in the sand. Either way, it's not good.

Last night I picked again my hurricane to complete my setup, and to my suprise the RX led went solid but no servo moviment. To clarify, last time I used this heli it was OK.
So back to my hobbycity Orange RX which works way better, and initializes really fast.

My AR8000 its just an expensive paper weight.
How come Spektrum makes a €93.96 receiver that its way worst than €17 OrangeRx 6ch receiver ??? which by the way binds properly with any model in the radio, and still have telemetry!

Horizon Hobby please stop selling e-waste, and please put your eyes on the Chinese Orange RX and learn something, like QC your products

I just starting having the same issue. I was setting up my 450 PRO that I got for Christmas with my new DX8 and for 2 days the AR8000 remained bound to my DX8. Then I lost the bind on mine. I attempted to put the bind plug in and apply power it and the satellite begins to flash as advertised. Then I turn on the DX8 with the bind button pressed the reciever acts like its going to bind and the DX8 goes through its binding process as if it binds. The satellite light comes on steady but the light goes out on the AR8000 and it does not respond to DX8 commands. I called HH and the guys says just go to the repair URL on the website and send it in. It just sounds like every other post that I have just read. Has anyone gotten any new news on this yet? Am I going to recieve a new dud reciever in place of this one? It really seems that Spektrum would be trying to protect there good reputation at this point in all of this cloudy mess. I'm glad I did not try to fly my 450, or I would be really p***ed with my pile of rubble and brand new DX8. So thank God its just a dud plastic box issue.

Thing is that I bought a AR6110E and it binds just fine in the same aircraft spot on the DX8. SO I am not sure if it has anything to do with the DX8 or the reciever. I don't have another Transmitter to try the AR8000 on. Let me know if anyone has any insite to this. Thanks

don't trust the AR8000 anymore , hade one on my Trex500 and this weekend lost bind , been flying with it since November with no issues . Hade to rebind it twice for it to work again, notice it take longer for the sattelit to initiate , so now have removed the AR8000 from my 500 and installed it on my 450 heli

I had several satellites & evidently got them mixed up & had no idea they were specific or had to be matched. I was going nuts trying to figure out what wa wrong. After reading this I tried every satellite I had until I found "the one". Now it works!

THANK YOU for posting this!
