It's super difficult to paint and have it show in the goggles. A buddy of mine runs a print shop and you'd be surprised at the hoops he has to jump through to get colors correct, let alone super bright. Recently I've been thinking about those chalk line dispensers used to lay out baseball diamonds and such. It'll still leave a visible mark, and might be somewhat semi-permanent, but unless it's on private property, any kind of markings might be construed as vandalism. Good idea, but only try "at home" so to say.

Yah, it was just a thought, I figured there was maybe something else there I didn't know about, its just too simple.

It was a good thought though. Believe me, Inverted and I have tried a bunch of different materials (not just fabric), and finding something that works in varying lighting conditions and is portable is a tall order. Even the yellow and orange rips-stop nylon is tough to see. The stuff I'm using is neon safety cloth, and now white rip-stop. Those are the only marking material that I've found to work for what we need. We've tried traffic safety barrels, OTS triangle flag strings, PVC 'n pool noodles, and some other stuff, but none worked well for various reasons (mostly visibility). Marking paint will turn dark and lose it's neon when sprayed on trees or the ground, white may show better, have not tried. Stuff laying on the ground seems to be visible only when you're right on top of it (tried with my flags and didn't see them until I was within 10' or so). Again, hard to find the right tool for the job.

After watching some more videos, not much of anything really stands out, except flags when the wind is blowing them out perpendicular to the direction of travel. Kinda like F1 you need to have the course memorized.

Exactly. Interesting point you made there. Last Sunday, another buddy and I were flying at my place, but he had to leave early. He helped retrieve the flags, but I wanted more flying (the conditions were 10/10), so I decided to try it without the flags. Seems I had memorized the track from all the flying we did earlier, and had little trouble running it same way and backwards. So, yes, exactly like F1. I still like the view whizzing past the flags though, if I had the choice.

Man my Gemini was piggy on 3S that first flight.

That course was way too much fun. I'll try to post up one of my 4S flights this eve.

Those white ones were all I had sewed up at the time. I had yellows and oranges done up Friday night. Very useful in places for sure. I did take some scraps and made some tall rectangular posts that are twice the height as the shorties, and they too were very useful, esp. for hard turn markers. There's shots in the vid I posted above.
