Default Stratus : engine alignment

Hello All,

first, I'd like to apologise if my english is not perfect but I do my best

Ok, I have two stratus and have the same issue with the two.
I am not able to have a perfect alignment between the engine and the clutch... The consequence is high frequency vibration and emulsion in the tank.

Some of you were able to fix this in order to have a good working of the heli ?

Thank you,
Rms

All I do is spin the motor over with the starter before I tighten up the 4 motor mount plate bolts; I have them firm but not tight, then spin it over , just for a second or so.... Occasionally have to do it twice to get it right..

Have you balanced the fan ? Checked for no runout with the fan mounted to the motor ??

I do almost the same as Peter.
But i do hover the heli, with the four screws, just snug/tighten very little, so the plate can move a bit.
Then i stop the heli, lift it (dont tilt it to one side) and then i tighten the four screws.

Do you have the side frame stiffeners installed?

Hello all,

Some news from here:
The heli si flying better and better after every flight. There is less and less foam in the tank.
I did as you told, with the engine running.
What helps also is that the engine starts to run well ( I'm breaking in it ), it's a new YS 91SRX.

Again, thank you !
