Default Main Gear Question

Hey guys,

Finishing up the build of my new x5. Tonight I noticed that my main gear isn't perfectly flat. For example, if you are looking at the main gear from the side of the heli and spin the main shaft, you can see that the main gear doesn't travel completely flat, it has a small bow in it. I spun up the motor without any blades on it (dang it's loud!) and didn't notice any bad vibrations, but is this normal or should I replace it?

How much difference are you talking? Mine has a very slight difference... maybe .25mm or less.

1-2mm. Think they overtightened something when they assembled the gear assembly? It's the only part I didn't disassemble!

A little wobble is normal IMO, and will absolutely not cause any bad effects. these gears are molded, not CNC'd. Most molded gears (ALIGN, GAUI, ETC..) are never exactly perfectly round or flat. you may also have something else that is bent. if you try a new gear and its way out of wack too, then look at the one way housing for damage or bending.
