How many CX2/3 folks left
Hi, I pulled my CX3 out and started to tinker after 3 years and decided to check out some forums. Not too many current posts on these helicopters, is there still a decent group of users or have most folks moved on to other helicopters?

I have one that I will always have:
As it was the heli that started the addiction - my son gave it to me as a Christmas present years ago. I don't fly it regularly but pull it out of the box at least several times a year just to remind me where I came from ( extremely hard to believe now that I crashed that little thing my first two flights )
I would like to find a torn up one ( really could make do with just the receiver and 3 in 1 ) so I could put one together for a neighborhood kid that is itching to get into them. If you know of anybody that has one - let me know.... Thanks

Yeah, I crashed on the maiden flight cracked the lower blade and set it to the side since I didnt have a spare, till last week. Spent $4 on a new lower blade and took off in the living room. Had a good time and proceeded to order EVERY upgrade I could still find. Kinda got carried away/sucked in. I will have a bunch of parts (even a perfect shell) if you want to work something out for the kid you mentioned. I am glad there are a few active posters in this forum for cx2/3.

Yep I have a CX3 gettting a bit battered now as the first step to learn to fly helicopters.
Very robust and good fun. I have a spare fuselage to restore her when I am better at flying. Bob |

I've still got a CX2, currently the outer shaft is bent, as are all my spares. The rest of it is all upgraded. I have a real nice condition CX3 currently up for sale in the classified threads.

haven't had my CX-3 in the air in nearly 4 years. It's just a "museum piece" now..I've got a TON of spare blades for the thing sitting in my parts drawer though. I stocked up during a sale once. The one thing I definitely remember that WASN'T robust about that thing was the blades. They'd shatter just looking at them.

I've probably got about 7 - 10, most in various states of repair. I just pulled them out a couple weeks ago and tested them. Whatever was wrong I would either fix right away or write it down on an index card and set the heli on a shelf on top of the index card. Personally I would like to get rid of the lot of them, or I'll just get em ready and sell them one at a time, probably put for sale on church bulletin board. Pretty sure somebody's gonna pick one up. Ebay's just too much a pain.

I still have a cx2. It's in the box disassembled. I was flying it around the house for my little girl and my idiot dog decided to try and pretend it was a frisbee. She didn't catch it but forced it into the bookshelf. Bent the main shaft and such. I've just never fixed it. I was going to get a mcpx or nano or something for in the house since I have my 450x for outdoors.
I'll probably fix it now, I'm being cheap and don't want to spend more than 40-50 bucks on a small heli. Lol |

I love my CX3. IMHO, the CX3 was the best model of the CX series. Shortest lived model though...or maybe that award goes to the CX4.

CX still flies. Well, flew!
I recently resuscitated my original old CX (naught)-- which had crashed into a tree over 7 years ago. Needed only a metal head replacement, and even the battery held a charge. Good trim too. Amazing.
Until, another tree reached out and touched it last night. Now the servos work, but neither rotor will spin and there's a "burning" smell. Ha. I think I really did it in this time. Any ideas? The rotors turn freely, no external damage. I wonder if I fried the 3-in-1? Is there a simple method to determine if the motors still spin under power? There is no throttle response, and yes I know to trim it down to zero first. Thanks! |

I used to be a regular on Helifreak. Been maybe 4 years though.
I still fly my CX2. Took a 3-4 year hiatis on it though. My stock motors burned up a few weeks ago, just put Xtreme 180s on. More power than stock, but not what expected from hearing other's comments. Only cost a few $ more too. Just installed a new frame. Much needed. Landing gear wouldn't stay anymore. Got a .078 piano rod coming. Think I need to find a good outer shaft. Also thinking of a new canopy. My old Xtreme one is kinda shot. I've noticed most of the "old" places to buy hop ups from are gone. I pulled off my homemade light set. Will probably re-wire and put back on. The R/C bug has been getting me lately. Since I don't have my B400 or Trex 450 anymore, I'm working the old CX2. Got all of my cars back on the road too!
